- Tuesday Toolbox: Jonathan JohnsonApril 6, 2021Repetition breeds success. Trust the process. Stay on your grind. Pick whatever cliché you want, they all seem to apply to this week’s featured rider, and for good reason. Jonathan Johnson may come off as all business, but make no mistake, he’s figured out what it takes to win. In fact, he’s the only rider at the Pro or Pro-Am level (Bike or ATV) to remain undefeated after four rounds of racing.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Ronnie RuschMarch 30, 2021This week’s featured rider, Ronnie Rusch, is about as perfect an example of motivation as you can get. He was already paving the way for a successful career in the world of GNCC, but the loss of a dear friend helped push him to the next level.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Steward Baylor Jr.March 23, 2021The picture-perfect script: The sun is shining; birds are chirping, the sky is a perfect Yamaha ‘blu’ and Stu Baylor has won all three rounds to start the 2021 season and easily sits atop the points chase. Life is good for Stu Baylor…
- Tuesday Toolbox: Jessica ElioffMarch 16, 2021Morgan Freeman once said, “Challenge yourself; it’s the only path which leads to growth.” Couple takeaways, one is personal for me. As a guy who makes a living with their voice, Morgan Freeman is, as the kids are saying, #VoiceGoals. Alright, I don’t really know if the kids are saying that, but I am. Anyway, more important is the second takeaway from what Morgan said.
- Tuesday Toolbox: TJ FineFebruary 16, 2021One of my favorite movie franchises is Rocky. Except for Rocky V, obviously. Any true fan knows you just pretend that one didn’t happen. Anyway, in Rocky Balboa, the 6th installment (or 5th, because remember, we’re not counting Rocky V), Rocky has a very deep heart-to-heart conversation with his son. If you want the entire back-story, watch the film. You can’t deny how motivational Rocky’s words are to his son...
- Tuesday Toolbox: Dominick StevensFebruary 9, 2021Glass half full? Glass half empty? 2020 wasn’t easy on the large majority of folks. Lives were turned upside down and whether you were a student in school or an adult in the work place your schedule and daily routine were likely affected. How each of us approached our “new normal” (Side-Note, who’s ready for “old normal”) depended heavily on self-motivation. This week’s Tuesday Toolbox features one of those young men who decided to look at things from the “glass half full” perspective. Everything from balancing school, competing and finishing the season 2nd in the College B (16-21) ATV Class, starting his own business at 17 and wrapping up the season with a jump into the College A (16-21) ATV Class. Here’s a glimpse into the life of a former GNCC Schoolboy Jr. Champion and business owner at 17, Dominick Stevens.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Ben FricksFebruary 2, 2021This week’s featured rider, Ben Fricks, is one of those people. He’s “one of our own” as the phrase goes. A student, a worker and a rider. A rider that finished 8th in the 250 C College (18-24) class last season that also happens to be a recipient of the Kurt Caselli Scholarship courtesy of The Kurt Caselli Foundation. We had a chance to catch up with Ben about how he balances an education, work-life and still manages to run a full season of GNCC.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Mark NotmanJanuary 26, 2021Johnny Gallagher, Drew Landers, Cole Richardson and the obvious one, Walker Fowler. Just a few of the big names this week’s featured interviewee has worked with as a mechanic over the years. Obviously, we’re talking about Mark Notman. Many who attend the GNCC’s regularly are well aware of who Mark is and what he means to Walker Fowler’s success. We had a chance to catch up with Mark and learn a little bit more about him, his success as a rider and his journey as Walker Fowler’s right-hand man in all six of their GNCC Championships. Oh yeah, he also had a very big life-event just a few weeks ago!
- Tuesday Toolbox: Jared BoltonJanuary 19, 2021Yeah, we know you might not be super excited to read what our own Jared Bolton has to say since you probably read his articles frequently, but Mikey Waynes had a last minute cancellation for his first Tuesday Toolbox. So for a warm up, Mikey caught up with GNCC’s Jared Bolton to get a feel for a few things. Working with the GNCC Track Crew and in a number of other facets for a number of years, Bolt-On’s passion for the sport is pretty evident when you meet him. You may see him at the races and read Quick Fill each week, but chances are you might not truly know that much about the guy. So, we took a few minutes to catch up on his background, the 2021 season and much more.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Adam MayhewJanuary 12, 2021Adam Mayhew busted on the eMTB scene at the end of 2019 with the amateur class win at the final eMTB round. Adam came into the 2020 season to race the series full-time and ended up coming away with the Amateur class championship. We caught up with Adam to learn more.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Mike GrizzleJanuary 5, 2021Dahlonega, Georgia’s Mike Grizzle has been a pretty well known name among racers in the southeast for many years. The, dare we say, ‘grizzled’ veteran has been around the block with a long history racing GNCC, National Enduro, SETRA and a many other local level events. Working his way up through A class ranks, to a local level pro, and now into 50+ age classes, Grizzle is no stranger to finding success at the front of the pack. This year he made more GNCC appearances that he has in quite a few years, and it paid off with the Masters A championship. We caught up with Grizz himself to talk about his season, and much more.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Blaceton MooreDecember 29, 2020Sixteen-year-old Blaceton Moore just won his first National Championship, in the 4-Stroke B Lites class. He has pursued the GNCC series for several years, with the goal of eventually becoming a pro rider. Next season he will move up to the A Lites class.
