- Tuesday Toolbox: Zack HayesDecember 8, 2020It has been a busy time for 26-year-old Zack Hayes. In the last few weeks, he won the XC3 title (his first pro championship), got married and started his own racing series! He was able to spare a few minutes during his lunch break though, to tell us about all of these recent events in his life and racing career.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Landon WolfeDecember 1, 2020Landon Wolfe not only successfully defended his 4x4 Pro title, but nearly managed a perfect season. The 26-year-old from Glenville, Pennsylvania, lives a busy lifestyle as he works full-time in the family construction company while also racing professionally full-time. He was able to take a few minutes out of his packed schedule to tell us about his life, season, and future plans.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Hannah HunterNovember 17, 2020Hannah Hunter earned her first WXC championship this year! The 18-year-old from Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania had a near-perfect season, winning every race but one. She also made it on to the Morning Overall Podium several times, despite starting a row behind the 4x4 pro class.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Rachel GutishNovember 11, 2020Rachel Gutish is the longest-running WXC bike competitor still racing GNCCs full-time. The 24-year old from Terre Haute, Indiana, first started racing GNCCs at 15 years old, competing on a supermini against the other women’s pro riders. Now, after long nine years, she finally took her first pro class win at the inaugural Buckwheat 100! In addition to her exploits in the WXC class, she also won the 2020 Women’s eMTB championship for the Gear Cycles team.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Bodie Buckhannon & Colby GoodmanNovember 3, 2020Bodie Buckhannon and Colby Goodman are the 2020 Micro Overall winners. Bodie and his brother Kody are two of the top Micro ATV riders, often winning their respective classes. He will be moving up to the 90cc (8-12) class next year. Colby Goodman was last year’s Micro Overall winner, and successfully defended his title this season. In addition to racing in the micro division, he got some experience in the Youth classes on his 65cc and plans to jump straight into 85cc next season.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Tyler CoxOctober 27, 2020Tyler Cox is the 2020 ATV Youth Overall National Champion. The fourteen-year-old from Valley Grove, Pennsylvania raced his first GNCC in 2017 and started chasing the series in 2019. Cox intends to move up to a full-size machine next year and compete in the Schoolboy Senior class.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Grant DavisOctober 20, 2020As of the Mason-Dixon GNCC, Grant Davis is officially the 2020 YXC1 Bike Champion. With eight wins under his belt, the fifteen-year-old from Meshoppen, Pennsylvania was able to wrap up the title two rounds early. Davis has ridden for Babbits Kawasaki for XX years now, and though he is currently unsure whether he will stay in the youth ranks and defend his title or move up to big bikes next year, he is definitely a rider to keep your eyes on over the next few years.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Becca SheetsOctober 13, 2020Becca Sheets just wrapped up the 2020 WXC GNCC National Championship at Mason-Dixon last weekend. This is her second GNCC title, having won the championship back in 2016, also on a Yamaha. Sheets has been racing in the WXC class longer than just about anyone – her first GNCC was in 2011 and her first full season was the following year in 2012.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Zac NashOctober 6, 2020Twenty-eight year old Zac Nash just wrapped up his first GNCC championship (25+ A) after a long history of racing GNCCs. Before stepping back from racing to become a mechanical engineer, he was one of the fastest amateur riders in the series, competing against the likes of Grant Baylor and Aaron Plessinger. Now fully settled into his engineering career, Nash has returned to GNCC racing. Welcome back!
- Tuesday Toolbox: Jeff McCarrenSeptember 29, 2020If you’ve spent any time around the Gear Cycles tent at the GNCCs, you’ve more than likely met Jeff McCarren. In addition to working at the bike shop and at the races as a bicycle mechanic, he is also one of the top eMTB racers, currently sitting third in points in the XC1 class. Jeff feels especially at home at the GNCCs, as he does originally come from a motorcycle racing background, and he has worked off-and-on for John Ayers for many years now.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Steward Baylor Jr.September 22, 2020The 2020 season has been a roller coaster ride for all of us, but perhaps nobody so much as Steward Baylor Jr. After coming up just short of the win at The General, he unexpectedly parted ways with his team, and missed the next five rounds. Besides the loss of a ride, there were some injuries and other issues that Baylor plans to address in a video project he and Mason Rader have been working on. After securing a one-race-at-a-time deal through AmPro Yamaha, Baylor came out swinging with something to prove at the Mountaineer, taking home the win and inspiring countless people in the process.
- Tuesday Toolbox: Grayson EllerSeptember 15, 2020Grayson Eller is the current Amateur overall points leader. I interviewed him prior to the summer break, but due to the hectic summer schedule here at Racer Productions, his interview never got posted, but late is better than never! He is 21 years old, from Salisbury, North Carolina. He also competes in the Pro-Am class in the ATV MX series – it is only recently that he began really focusing on GNCC racing, but so far he’s been pretty successful at it!
