Tuesday Toolbox: Jared Bolton January 19, 2021 Yeah, we know you might not be super excited to read what our own Jared Bolton has to say since you probably read his articles frequently, but Mikey Waynes had a last minute cancellation for his first Tuesday Toolbox. So for a warm up, Mikey caught up with GNCC’s Jared Bolton to get a feel for a few things. Working with the GNCC Track Crew and in a number of other facets for a number of years, Bolt-On’s passion for the sport is pretty evident when you meet him. You may see him at the races and read Quick Fill each week, but chances are you might not truly know that much about the guy. So, we took a few minutes to catch up on his background, the 2021 season and much more.
Tuesday Toolbox: Adam Mayhew January 12, 2021 Adam Mayhew busted on the eMTB scene at the end of 2019 with the amateur class win at the final eMTB round. Adam came into the 2020 season to race the series full-time and ended up coming away with the Amateur class championship. We caught up with Adam to learn more.
Tuesday Toolbox: Mike Grizzle January 5, 2021 Dahlonega, Georgia’s Mike Grizzle has been a pretty well known name among racers in the southeast for many years. The, dare we say, ‘grizzled’ veteran has been around the block with a long history racing GNCC, National Enduro, SETRA and a many other local level events. Working his way up through A class ranks, to a local level pro, and now into 50+ age classes, Grizzle is no stranger to finding success at the front of the pack. This year he made more GNCC appearances that he has in quite a few years, and it paid off with the Masters A championship. We caught up with Grizz himself to talk about his season, and much more.
Tuesday Toolbox: Blaceton Moore December 29, 2020 Sixteen-year-old Blaceton Moore just won his first National Championship, in the 4-Stroke B Lites class. He has pursued the GNCC series for several years, with the goal of eventually becoming a pro rider. Next season he will move up to the A Lites class.
Tuesday Toolbox: Austin Abney December 22, 2020 Twenty-two-year-old Austin Abney, from Veedersburg, Indiana, is the 2020 ATV XC2 Pro-Am National Champion! One of the most dominant ATV riders Indiana has ever seen, Abney won a record 32 out of 34 local races he contested in the 2019 season. He planned on doing the same in 2020, but on a whim decided to step back up to the National level. He plans to pursue the GNCC series again next season but racing in the XC1 Pro class.
Tuesday Toolbox: Craig DeLong December 15, 2020 Craig DeLong had a spectacular year, bringing home both his first GNCC XC2 tile and the Pro2 championship in NEPG as well! Despite only being 24, DeLong is a veteran of the series, now entering his tenth season in GNCC racing.
Tuesday Toolbox: Zack Hayes December 8, 2020 It has been a busy time for 26-year-old Zack Hayes. In the last few weeks, he won the XC3 title (his first pro championship), got married and started his own racing series! He was able to spare a few minutes during his lunch break though, to tell us about all of these recent events in his life and racing career.
Tuesday Toolbox: Landon Wolfe December 1, 2020 Landon Wolfe not only successfully defended his 4x4 Pro title, but nearly managed a perfect season. The 26-year-old from Glenville, Pennsylvania, lives a busy lifestyle as he works full-time in the family construction company while also racing professionally full-time. He was able to take a few minutes out of his packed schedule to tell us about his life, season, and future plans.
Tuesday Toolbox: Hannah Hunter November 17, 2020 Hannah Hunter earned her first WXC championship this year! The 18-year-old from Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania had a near-perfect season, winning every race but one. She also made it on to the Morning Overall Podium several times, despite starting a row behind the 4x4 pro class.
Tuesday Toolbox: Rachel Gutish November 11, 2020 Rachel Gutish is the longest-running WXC bike competitor still racing GNCCs full-time. The 24-year old from Terre Haute, Indiana, first started racing GNCCs at 15 years old, competing on a supermini against the other women’s pro riders. Now, after long nine years, she finally took her first pro class win at the inaugural Buckwheat 100! In addition to her exploits in the WXC class, she also won the 2020 Women’s eMTB championship for the Gear Cycles team.
Tuesday Toolbox: Bodie Buckhannon & Colby Goodman November 3, 2020 Bodie Buckhannon and Colby Goodman are the 2020 Micro Overall winners. Bodie and his brother Kody are two of the top Micro ATV riders, often winning their respective classes. He will be moving up to the 90cc (8-12) class next year. Colby Goodman was last year’s Micro Overall winner, and successfully defended his title this season. In addition to racing in the micro division, he got some experience in the Youth classes on his 65cc and plans to jump straight into 85cc next season.
Tuesday Toolbox: Tyler Cox October 27, 2020 Tyler Cox is the 2020 ATV Youth Overall National Champion. The fourteen-year-old from Valley Grove, Pennsylvania raced his first GNCC in 2017 and started chasing the series in 2019. Cox intends to move up to a full-size machine next year and compete in the Schoolboy Senior class.
