Quick Fill #29: This Week in GNCCOctober 14, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. Believe it or not, this week’s edition of Quick Fill comes to you from Loretta Lynn’s Ranch! No, you’re not missing a GNCC event or anything here. Kayla and I are at the ranch helping out with their Fall Trail Ride which is taking place throughout this weekend. Trails are open today, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and things are looking really fun, along with a full weekend of riding, music, and good times. They’ve got a 13 mile main loop, two bike-only single track sections that are around 5 and 6 miles each, a Novice loop, Kids loop, plus a night ride Friday night. So in other words, there’s a lot of riding going on! Check out the ranch’s website for more details if you’re just now hearing about it and want to ride.
Quick Fill #28: This Week in GNCC RacingOctober 7, 2021We're all getting ready to get back to GNCC Racing this weekend in Newburg, West Virginia for the AMSOIL Buckwheat 100 race! This is Mrs. Bolton typing as we speak, well because the Mr. is still out at the track getting things ready for this weekend with the rest of the track crew.
Quick Fill #27: This Week in GNCCSeptember 23, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill.
It’s time to go racing once again! We’re getting geared up for this weekend’s Burr Oak GNCC at Sunday Creek Raceway, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty nice weekend. Yes, it looks as if things will start out a little on the sloppy side as there’s been a fair amount of on and off rain this week.
Quick Fill #26: This Week in GNCCSeptember 2, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. Well, the summer break is officially winding down as we’re now just a smidge over a week away from returning to racing. Whether your summer break has flown by or crept by, its just about over and we’ll be taking to the woods before you know it. This year we’re kicking things back off in style as we’re back at the Summit Bechtel Reserve for The Mountaineer GNCC in Beckley, West Virginia. If you haven’t been to this facility before, well, prepare to be blown away! It’s an impressive piece of property, home to the Scouts of America and the National Scout Jamboree, and has also hosted the World Scout Jamboree.
Quick Fill #25: This Week in GNCCAugust 26, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill.Well, it’s been a little while! Not only has the summer break continued, but things have also been a little slow on the Quick Fill front as well. Things have been non-stop, wide open, all summer long here but we’re back this week and want to go through a quick recap of what has been going on that has kept the Quick Fill happenings a bit on the slow side. With that said, things are still non-stop, wide open here as we’re getting ready for the Pro Motocross race at Ironman this weekend. So, let’s run through that and talk about a few other tidbits before wrapping this thing up.
Quick Fill #23: This Week in GNCCJuly 22, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. Another off week is in the books and we’re rolling steady through the summer break. This off-time always seems to be pretty similar each year in that some folks spend their entire break continuing to ride and race, while others actually take some time off to try out some other activities. What seems to change each year is those who choose either of those options, almost seem to switch it up the following year. It’s a bit rare to see the same people continue to ride, ride, ride and race every single summer break.
Quick Fill #22: This Week in GNCCJuly 15, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. GNCC summer break is in full swing and so far it looks like the majority of the GNCC Racing Nation has been finding ways to stay busy. Some folks have kept right on riding and racing, while others have been participating in some more traditional style summer activities. Regardless which category you fall into, at some point in the coming weeks you’ll probably start looking forward to getting back into the swing of GNCC Racing, if you’re not already. The good news is that at this point, there’s only about 57 days left until we get back to racing. Sounds like a long amount of time, and a short amount of time, all at the same time… If that makes sense?
Quick Fill #21: This Week in GNCCJuly 1, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. Well, summer break is here. It seems like we just kicked off the 2021 GNCC Racing season and we’re now already nine rounds deep with just four remaining. However, there’s a long summer break standing between us and those final four rounds, and there’s plenty to think and talk about throughout the summer. Not only are there points battles to take a look at, but there’s multiple scenarios involved there to consider, and many riders will spend this summer break figuring out what they need to do to get the job done in the final four rounds.
Quick Fill #20: This Week in GNCCJune 24, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. Alright, things are crazy busy on our end and have been for, well, months but they’ve been extra busy the last few weeks. This week’s edition of Quick Fill will be a bit on the quick side but we’ll still run through a few things to get you ready for this weekend’s Snowshoe GNCC. It does seem a bit wild that we’re already approaching the final round before summer break as it seems like we just kicked off the 2021 season yesterday. Regardless if you feel like time has flown or not, it’s crunch time as the season is beginning it’s final leg (although there is a few months break in between)
Quick Fill #19: This Week in GNCCJune 10, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. What a weekend! We finally had near perfect conditions at the Mason-Dixon after the last two versions of that event were, well, pretty darn dusty. It rained around lunch time on Thursday, but the sun came out on Friday and dried things up just enough that once riders took to the course and started churning the dirt up on Saturday, the moisture stayed right in the dirt and made for some of the best dirt conditions we’ve seen all year.
Quick Fill #18: This Week in GNCCMay 27, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. It’s hard to believe we’ve eclipsed the halfway point of the 2021 GNCC Racing season, but we have! Seven rounds are in the books and only six remain as things begin to heat up in the hunt for GNCC National Championships. This year’s John Penton GNCC was probably one of, if not the best conditions we’ve ever seen for this event. Some of the open areas got a little dusty but the woods held just enough moisture to keep the dust down while also not being muddy. That’s a rare thing at the Penton, and it really made for a great weekend of racing.
Quick Fill #17: This Week in GNCCMay 20, 2021Welcome to Quick Fill. Well, it’s time to go racing! We’re gearing up for this weekend’s John Penton GNCC and it’s shaping up to be a good one. Naturally, we’ll have the details on what you could expect on the racecourse coming up, and since we’re super busy getting everything ready we’ll get through this edition of Quick Fill pretty fast so we can get back to it, and let you get back to getting ready as well.
