We’re rolling right on through the pre-season and inching closer and closer to the beginning of the 2018 GNCC Racing season. At this point we’re just around 37 days away from round one. That means it’s almost crunch time and if you’re not prepared for the 2018 season, then now is the time to get prepared because it’s going to sneak up on you before you know it.

The pre-season rolls on as we begin to see more and more folks beginning to take some trips south to get in some off-season practice, a little racing and just some fun times in general. Speaking of pre-season races, last week I mentioned a couple put on by the SERMA club in South Carolina but there’s actually another event coming up before then in Denver, North Carolina which has a long history in the sport of off-road racing, dating back to the 1970s when the town played hosted to North Carolina’s version of the Blackwater 100, known as the Denver 100.

Actually, to be a little more specific, welcome to the last Quick Fill before Christmas and penultimate Quick Fill of 2017. I feel like we say this a lot but it really seems like this year has flown by. It’s a bit crazy to think that it’s been a full year since we were last gearing up for Christmas and looking forward to the start of the following season, but here we are again! This time next week social media will be loaded with photos of new gear, new bikes, new parts and all sorts of cool Christmas gifts. It’s always pretty fun to see what everyone is rolling into the new season with, so be sure to keep an eye out for everyone’s new swag.

The off-season rolls on and we work ourselves closer and closer to Christmas. Many folks are beginning to feel the holiday spirit as they buy presents for loved ones, friends and themselves of course! In just a couple of weeks, social media will be alive with all sorts of cool photos of people sporting new gear, new bikes and new parts. It’s a pretty exciting time and always cool to get a little teaser of what to expect next season.

With the banquet weekend finally coming and going, we can officially close the book on the 2017 GNCC Racing season. There’s no doubt that the season was full of ups and downs but overall it was a pretty exciting season full of record-breaking performances. That kind of excitement also leads us towards the 2018 season with high expectations of great racing, and of course loads of fun as well. Speaking of 2018, Chelsea will have a few details on the 2018 schedule coming up a little later in this week’s edition of Quick Fill, so keep reading ahead to get the details.

Thanksgiving has come and gone as we press through the final portions of 2017. We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and no matter if you got in some weekend riding or stayed away from your machines all together, there’s no doubt that everyone involved in the world of GNCC Racing in any aspect has a lot to be thankful for. It’s easy to get caught up in life, let the little issues bother us and forget to take a few moments to remain thankful but just remember, even if you’re able to simply sit there and read this right now, you definitely have a lot to be thankful for.

The off-season continues to roll along as things begin to wind down and while there’s a lot of the off-season racing going on that I mentioned last week, there’s a lot more guys flying under the radar and just enjoying the off-season before jumping head first into prep for 2018. That’s always a pretty exciting time when it rolls around because it’s always cool to see fresh machines, fresh graphics, fresh gear and a fresh start for many.

We’re really only into our second week of the off-season and it seems like there’s already a good number of folks who are ready to get back into the swing of racing. If you fall into that category, well, the only advice I can give is try to settle in and enjoy the off-season because it’s just getting started. In the same flip of the coin, time flies and we’ll be getting ready to kick the 2018 season off before we know it.

Just like that, the 2017 GNCC Racing season has come to a close. Many seem to agree that the season flew by in the blink of an eye, but for others it may have seemed to drag on. Regardless of which category you fall into, 2017 was definitely one for the record books, and I mean that quite literally. History was made in both the ATV and Bike ranks, and then additionally there was history made from the UTV crowd as well. It was also a bit of an up and down season for some folks, as some usual title contenders seemed to struggle at times. Overall, it was a great season and we hope to start 2018 on a high note.

Well, this is it! We approach the final round of the 2017 GNCC Racing season. I know this is said just about every week in Quick Fill, but it’s hard to believe how fast time has flown by. It really does seem like we were just kicking the season off in South Carolina and now we’re already in Indiana finishing up the season. Of course, there’s no better way to cap off the season than at Ironman with a big crowd and a lot of racers.
