Quick Fill #22: This Week in GNCCJune 4, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. What a weekend of racing! As usual, Moree’s Sportsman’s Preserve welcomed us with open arms to their beautiful facility for another running of the Camp Coker Bullet GNCC. For several years now, this event has seen good turnouts but honestly hasn’t been one of the bigger events of the year. That’s a shame because the facility itself is so cool with its numerous ponds, beautiful green fields and plentiful parking. This year ended up being the largest Camp Coker event to date, which is really great considering the unfavorable weather leading into the event.
Quick Fill #21: This Week in GNCCMay 28, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. It’s time to go racing once again! We’re full swing into getting ready for this weekend’s Camp Coker Bullet GNCC in Society Hill, South Carolina. We did get a full day of rain in Wednesday but dodged all the rain on Thursday and got a good bit of sunshine throughout the day that really dried out a lot of the course. We rerouted a few spots that ended up staying very wet, and also stayed out of the low spots to begin with, so as of Thursday evening everything is looking really great!
Quick Fill #20: This Week in GNCCMay 21, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. What a weekend! It was so great to get back to the track and go GNCC Racing last weekend in Georgia. The Bulldog GNCC was definitely no re-do of The General, even though they were held at the same location. This time around, the Aonia Pass MX facility felt totally different and the course was a good bit different. We were able to route portions of the track through some areas that typically have standing water in them when we’re here in March. We also cut in a few new sections of trail, and ran through some other sections that haven’t been used in quite a few years. It turned out to be really fun, and produced some exciting racing as well.
Quick Fill #19: This Week in GNCCMay 14, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. It’s time to go racing! We’re putting the finishing touches on this weekend’s Bulldog GNCC in Washington, Georgia and it’s looking to be a great weekend in the woods. Since we first announced the return to Aonia Pass for round four of the 2020 season, I’ve discussed how you shouldn’t expect the same course we raced last time here back in March. Well, I knew we’d change it up a bit but I didn’t expect us to change it as much as we have. Obviously there are a few spots that you have to use but the overwhelming majority of the course is different than what we rode earlier this season.
Quick Fill #18: This Week in GNCCMay 7, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. It’s official! We’re going racing next weekend, May 16-17. We’ve worked hard to put everything together and we’ll be heading back to Aonia Pass MX in Washington, Georgia. This time we’ll be calling it The Bulldog! It’s exciting to get back to racing, and we realize it’s not totally ideal to go back to a facility we’ve already raced at this season, but given the situation right now and availability of race locations, going to a community familiar with GNCC Racing is the most sensible thing.
Quick Fill #17: This Week in GNCCApril 30, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. This is an exciting week because we’ve got some news to talk about! By now you’ve likely seen the PR stating that we’re TENTATIVELY planning to get back to racing in the weekend of May 16-17 in Georgia. In case you haven’t read the PR, you can view the whole thing HERE, but the big news in the PR states that we’re working with local officials and landowners in Georgia and South Carolina to make a return to racing. There are still some details to finalize, so it’s not 100% set in stone just yet but we’re really hopeful this all comes together.
Quick Fill #16: This Week in GNCCApril 23, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. This unscheduled off time continues as the world progresses through another week of the Covid 19 pandemic, and while this definitely isn’t fun, it will ultimately give us all a new appreciation for getting to go racing when we do return. We’ve got our fingers crossed that a return to racing happens sooner rather than later, but there are a lot of moving pieces that need to happen before we’re able to just jump into hosting a race. It looks as if this pandemic will wind down on a state-to-state basis, and while it looks like a return to racing will ultimately come within the next several weeks, it’s up in the air as to where exactly we will be racing.
Quick Fill #15: This Week in GNCCApril 16, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. We’re working our way through the current COVID-19 Pandemic and yes, we’re all really looking forward to the end of the whole situation. For now, we have to remain patient and stay busy with other projects; sort of like the Behind the Bars series we’ve been producing the last several weeks. If for some reason you haven’t been following GNCC for a month or so, or just have happened to miss these, we’ve been sitting back with some professional riders and watching past RacerTV episodes with them. It’s been really cool as the insight into these events provided by these guys is awesome, and just watching the past footage is great as well.
Quick Fill #14: This Week in GNCCApril 9, 2020Hey all you cool cats and kittens, welcome to Quick Fill.Just kidding, this week’s edition of Quick Fill is NOT written by Carole Baskin. The weeks continue to roll by in this unscheduled break from racing, and while there hasn’t been much going on in regards to riding, we’re still trying to keep the entertainment rolling. RacerTV’s new Behind the Bars series has been really fun to put together over the last few weeks and we’ve got an awesome episode coming up this week… More on that in a bit! News has been a bit quiet this week but we do have some updates in regards to the rest of the GNCC season, which were issued earlier this week from the RLT.
Quick Fill #13: This Week in GNCCApril 2, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill!We hope you’re all hanging in there as we continue to progress through the current situation in the world. Trust us, we’re wanting to get back to normal just as much as the rest of you but this doesn’t happen overnight. Everyone has their opinions on the situation, but at the moment we just have to bear through it and get to the end as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, due the ongoing concerns we’ve had to postpone the Camp Coker event. You can read the full Competition Bulletin HERE. As for a reschedule date, that will take some time to assess and come up with a final plan, so stay tuned for details there.
Quick Fill #12: This Week in GNCCMarch 27, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill. This week’s edition of Quick Fill comes to you from my garage. I’ve been handling the reins of Quick Fill for around five years now, and been contributing to Quick Fill for, well, I honestly can’t remember how long now. I’ve written these contributions in the Racer Productions office, at the track, in hotel rooms, in campers, here and there, I’ve written them just about everywhere. But, this is the first time I’ve ever written this up in my garage. This is actually pretty cool. I’m nestled up between my toolbox, and just a few feet from my DRZ250 and KTM 300XC-W; both of which are begging to be ridden.
Quick Fill #11: This Week in GNCCMarch 19, 2020Welcome to Quick Fill.Three rounds are down so far in 2020, and we’re hoping the rest of the season is just as exciting as these first three rounds. Yes, we know there’s a lot of craziness happening right now around the world, and it’s had an effect on GNCC Racing as well. If you haven’t already read the PR, we’ve officially cancelled the next event and will most likely be utilizing the rain date in July. That’s not set in stone just yet, so keep an eye out for updates as soon as we have a final decision. We’ll leave it at that for this week and focus this week’s edition of Quick Fill on the good and entertaining news pertaining to GNCC Racing.
