• Tuesday Toolbox: Zac NashOctober 6, 2020Twenty-eight year old Zac Nash just wrapped up his first GNCC championship (25+ A) after a long history of racing GNCCs. Before stepping back from racing to become a mechanical engineer, he was one of the fastest amateur riders in the series, competing against the likes of Grant Baylor and Aaron Plessinger. Now fully settled into his engineering career, Nash has returned to GNCC racing. Welcome back!
• Tuesday Toolbox: Jeff McCarrenSeptember 29, 2020If you’ve spent any time around the Gear Cycles tent at the GNCCs, you’ve more than likely met Jeff McCarren. In addition to working at the bike shop and at the races as a bicycle mechanic, he is also one of the top eMTB racers, currently sitting third in points in the XC1 class. Jeff feels especially at home at the GNCCs, as he does originally come from a motorcycle racing background, and he has worked off-and-on for John Ayers for many years now.
• Tuesday Toolbox: Steward Baylor Jr.September 22, 2020The 2020 season has been a roller coaster ride for all of us, but perhaps nobody so much as Steward Baylor Jr. After coming up just short of the win at The General, he unexpectedly parted ways with his team, and missed the next five rounds. Besides the loss of a ride, there were some injuries and other issues that Baylor plans to address in a video project he and Mason Rader have been working on. After securing a one-race-at-a-time deal through AmPro Yamaha, Baylor came out swinging with something to prove at the Mountaineer, taking home the win and inspiring countless people in the process.
• Tuesday Toolbox: Grayson EllerSeptember 15, 2020Grayson Eller is the current Amateur overall points leader. I interviewed him prior to the summer break, but due to the hectic summer schedule here at Racer Productions, his interview never got posted, but late is better than never! He is 21 years old, from Salisbury, North Carolina. He also competes in the Pro-Am class in the ATV MX series – it is only recently that he began really focusing on GNCC racing, but so far he’s been pretty successful at it!
• Tuesday Toolbox: Ryder SigetySeptember 8, 2020Ryder Sigety hails from New Jersey, and currently races in the 65cc (10-11) bike youth class. Ryder had a bit of a late start to the season, missing the first four rounds of racing. However, since he began racing at round 5 in South Carolina he has clinched each class win. Ryder currently sits eighth in his classes points standings, but he is aiming to continue his winning ways this fall.
• Tuesday Toolbox: Jordan AshburnSeptember 1, 2020After eight rounds of racing in 2020, Jordan Ashburn currently finds himself third overall in the National Championship points standings. As the GNCC Series is set to return on September 12-13, Ashburn is looking to utilize his training during summer break and finally earn that overall podium finish he has been battling for all season. We caught up with Ashburn, and also got the details on his Tennessee Knock Out bike!
• Tuesday Toolbox: Tayla JonesAugust 18, 2020Multi-time GNCC WXC champion Tayla Jones has had a busy summer break. The Australian native has been living in and racing here in the states since 2017 and has been one of the most successful female off-road racers in recent memory. But she can do far more than win GNCCs, as she has proven in the last couple weeks.
• Tuesday Toolbox: Nate FerdererAugust 11, 2020Nate Ferderer is the epitome of the weekend warrior. The 28-year old from Minneapolis faces 18-hour-plus one-way drives for every race and is expected back at Hypertherm bright and early Monday morning, where he works as a mechanical engineer. Ferderer currently sits in fourth in the FMF XC3 class, especially impressive given his other obligations and the fact that this is his first year pursuing the GNCC series!
• Loretta Lynn’s Specialized Turbo eMTB Race ReportAugust 10, 2020Round five of the Specialized Turbo eMTB GNCC National Championship Series took place August 1st in conjunction with the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship. In addition to being round five of the series, the Loretta’s race also served as the first-ever FIM North American eMTB championship.
• Tuesday Toolbox: Zach OsborneJuly 21, 2020I had an uncle who raced motocross, so I was exposed to motorcycles from a very early age. I got my first bike when I was three years old and I began racing when I was about six. We started with local races then progressed on to amateur nationals.
• Tuesday Toolbox: Rachael ArcherJuly 14, 2020If you aren’t familiar with Rachael Archer, you haven’t been paying much attention this season. The eighteen-year-old from New Zealand is now in her second full year of GNCC racing. After some promising, but hit-or-miss results last year, Archer has really come into her own this season, finishing on the podium nearly every race. She rides for the AmPro Yamaha team, is currently sitting third in WXC points and just last weekend at High Voltage took home her first-ever WXC win!
• The Wiseco John Penton Youth ATV Race ReportJuly 11, 2020Round seven of the 2020 Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, took place June 27th and 28th in Millfield, OH, with The Wiseco John Penton GNCC.
