Quick Fill #21: This Week in GNCCMay 26, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
This week’s edition of Quick Fill comes to you from Millfield, Ohio, home of this weekend’s Wiseco John Penton GNCC. The Penton is the oldest event currently on the GNCC schedule and has seen it’s fair share of incredibly great racing over the years and this weekend promises to be the same. If you read last week’s edition of Quick Fill, Rodney and I both discussed how intense the racing was at our previous round in Indiana and there’s a pretty good chance that we’ll see that intensity carry over to this weekend’s event.
Tuesday Toolbox: Lucas ToweryMay 24, 2016Lucas Towery is a familiar face in the world of GNCC Racing. It’s not uncommon to see the entire Towery Family at a GNCC event as Lucas’ dad, Ricky, is the GNCC start/finish line referee. His mom, Lynn, also works at Rider Registration and when his brother Robby is able to make it to a race, you can catch him on the track as well. We caught up with Lucas to hear more about his 2016 season and much, much more!
Quick Fill #20: This Week in GNCCMay 19, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Round six is in the books as the 2016 GNCC Racing season continues to push forward. This year’s Limestone 100 GNCC was nothing short of challenge for just about everyone. Rain in the week prior to the race saturated the track and made for a fairly tough and muddy race throughout the whole weekend. Even though the last bit of rain fell Friday night, it was still wet enough that even the bike races on Sunday saw a bit of mud, even with a good bit of sun helping to dry things out. By no means was it a full-blown mud race, but it added a challenge for sure.
Quick Fill #19: This Week in GNCCMay 12, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
This weekend we continue the saga of the 2016 GNCC Racing season with the Limestone 100 GNCC in Springville, Indiana. The crew has been hard at work getting the Lawrence County Recreational Park ready for this weekend’s race and a little later in this week’s edition of Quick Fill, we’ll have some details on what you can expect out of the course this weekend, so make sure to read on for the scoop!
Quick Fill #18: This Week in GNCCMay 5, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Another round is history as we continue to rocket our way through the 2016 GNCC Racing season. The inaugural Camp Coker Bullet GNCC was a load of fun for some, and a tough weekend at the races for others. Saturday’s ATV races saw near-perfect conditions, even with a few little wet spots, but unfortunately the rains came Sunday morning and made things pretty challenging for those in the 10AM and 1PM races. It’s very unfortunate because the track was an absolute blast before the rain put a bit of a hurting on the racecourse.
Quick Fill #17: This Week in GNCCApril 28, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Are you ready to go GNCC Racing again this weekend? Well, hopefully so because we’re rolling into round five with the inaugural Camp Coker Bullet GNCC in Society Hill, South Carolina. It almost seems unbelievable that we’re already reaching the fifth event of the season as it feels like the season opener was just a couple of weeks ago. They say time flies when you’re having fun, so clearly we’ve been having a pretty fun season because it’s flying by.
Quick Fill #16: This Week in GNCCApril 21, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Hopefully by this point in the week everyone has been able to clean themselves up from all the dust and are ready to push forward to the next event. Big Buck was a bit on the dry side and while a little rain wouldn’t have hurt anything, at least we weren’t racing in the mud! Unless you like that, then, well, sorry it didn’t rain! The dust was possibly one of the biggest stories of the weekend and it added yet another challenge to the race itself. However, I saw less riders with goggles off than I have in a long time, so if nothing else, it was easy on goggles!
Quick Fill #15: This Week in GNCCApril 14, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
The 2016 season rolls on and this weekend we roll to round four and the 20th annual VP Racing Fuels Big Buck GNCC. In last week’s edition of Quick Fill, I talked a bit about how special it is that this year marks the 20th edition of the Big Buck GNCC, some other fun historical info on the event and a little on how thing have, or have not changed since that inaugural Big Buck GNCC event in 1997. We’ve got a little more on that coming up a little later.
Quick Fill #14: This Week in GNCCApril 7, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Another week, another race! I’ve heard more than a few people mention that this year’s GNCC Racing season is already starting to fly by and that really seems like that’s the case. We’re now three rounds in and getting ready to go racing on round four next weekend at Big Buck, and this year’s Big Buck is going to be a special one. What makes it so special you ask? Well, 2016 marks the 20th running of the Big Buck GNCC! That’s a huge accomplishment for any event, anywhere, and we’re glad to have been visiting the Big Buck Farm for that long. More on that later!
Quick Fill #13: This Week in GNCCMarch 31, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Once again it’s time to go GNCC Racing and we’re back in familiar territory with the FMF Steele Creek GNCC. This year marks the 17th running of Steele Creek and promises to be one of the best to date. Last week we discussed a few of the most epic moments from the history of Steele Creek and it leaves a big question; will this year be another for the history books? The storyline of the 2016 GNCC Racing season has built up through the first two rounds and round three at Steele Creek is already shaping up to be one of the best Steele Creek races in history, and there’s not even any racing going on yet.
Quick Fill #12: This Week in GNCCMarch 24, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Another week is in the books and while traditionally we’d be gearing up for round three this weekend, leap year and an early Easter have pushed the schedule back ever-so slightly, so we’ve got an extra weekend off before we go racing at Steele Creek. For some, it’s a nice break to find some extra seat time, make more adjustments to their machine, or just spend Easter Weekend with the family. Of course, there are others who are ultimately ready to get back to racing!
Quick Fill #11: This Week in GNCCMarch 18, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Whew, it’s hard to believe that the opening rounds have already come and gone. At times, it seems like the off-season drags on and then once it gets down to crunch time, then into race time, all of that time flies by. Regardless, I believe everyone really enjoyed the tracks for this year’s first two rounds. They were a good bit different than what we’ve experienced in the past and there were very few people who didn’t have a blast.
