Quick Fill #45: This Week in GNCCDecember 15, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Another week is in the books and that pushes us further through the off-season and closer to the beginning of the 2017 GNCC Racing season. We’ve officially hit that point where most everyone is ready to get back into racing, but on the other hand, there are others who likely still have a lot of prep left to do. The good news for them is there’s still a lot of time left to get those things done.
Quick Fill #44: This Week in GNCCDecember 8, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Another week rolls by as the GNCC Racing off-season continues to tick away. We’re reaching that point of the off-season where some riders are starting to get ready for some seat time again and a number of off-season races start seeing their numbers begin to grow. Last week I mentioned the Zoo City GP event I put on in North Carolina and I’d like to thank everyone who came out to race. There were a number of folks who drove a pretty good distance to be there, so big thanks to those folks as well. Weather was great, everyone seemed to enjoy the track and it was a good day of racing minus some hiccups with scoring but those issues will be resolved before next year’s Zoo City GP.
Quick Fill #43: This Week in GNCCDecember 1, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
With the GNCC Banquets over and done with for the year, we can officially close the book on the 2016 GNCC Racing season. We’ve talked the past few weeks in Quick Fill about just how great of a year it was, and those in attendance at the banquet discussed that even more. It seems like each and every year that passes is the “best yet” for GNCC Racing and it’s true. Each year just gets better and better and one can’t help but wonder what kind of exciting things the 2017 season will bring.
Quick Fill #42: This Week in GNCCNovember 18, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
First off, I’d like to apologize to our regular Quick Fill readers for a late edition this week. Our entire staff has not only been busy getting things ready for next weekend’s banquets, but also for the 2017 season as whole. On top of that, Tommy Harris, Ryan Echols, Justin Perkins and myself have been spending this whole week removing sections of the fences at High Point Raceway in preparation for some facility updates over the winter. It’s not exactly easy work, but the weather has been so nice this week that we’ve actually been enjoying the time getting to do a little deconstruction and finding some fun ways to tick the time away as well.

The off-season is now officially in full swing and while we’re less than two weeks removed from the end of the 2016 season, it’s never too early to start looking ahead and dreaming of next season. For some riders, there’s a good bit of changing on the horizon, which is pretty wild as 2016 saw a significant amount of change as well. The silly season is in full swing and there’s been a few pretty good rumors going around, but it’s still too early to dive very far into discussing too many of those.
Quick Fill #40: This Week in GNCCNovember 3, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Well, that’s officially a wrap on the 2016 GNCC Racing season. It’s hard to believe that this season has already come and gone, as it seems like we were just kicking off the 2016 season in Florida a few days ago. However, that’s now been 243 days! All said an done, the 2016 GNCC Racing season was 239 day journey with 13, 19.5, 26 or 39 hours of racing, depending on which race of the weekend you take part in. It’s anywhere between 375 to nearly 1,000 miles of racing, once again depending on which race you partake in.
Quick Fill #39: This Week in GNCCOctober 27, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Well, here it is! We have officially reached the final round of the 2016 GNCC Racing season. For some it may seem like it’s been a long road to get here, but others may feel like the season has flown by. Regardless of how you feel, we all know that 2016 brought us one of the best seasons in the history of GNCC Racing and gives 2017 pretty big shoes to fill. However, if it’s anything like this year, then 2017 promises to be a great year as well.

Another week has come and gone and we’re now just over a week away from returning to GNCC Racing for the final time in the 2016 season. As usual, the Ironman GNCC serves as the 2016 season finale and this round always serves as one of the best ways possible to cap off a season. With a huge turnout of both racers and spectators, along with some of the best spectating opportunities and some of the most fun trails of the season, plus one of the best concession areas of any event, it’s no wonder why the Ironman is regarded as many folks’ favorite round.
Quick Fill #37: This Week in GNCCOctober 13, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
While the world of GNCC Racing takes in another week off, the world of off-road is extremely active this week as the two-wheeled side of things shifts their focus to the International Six Days Enduro taking place this week in Spain. We’ll have some updates on how things are going coming up a little later in this week’s edition of Quick Fill, so make sure to read ahead for the latest!
Quick Fill #36: This Week in GNCCOctober 6, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
Whew! Just like that, two back-to-back rounds have come to an end. We mentioned last week how it’s common to see back-to-back races for the opening rounds, but it’s an extreme rarity to see this kind of thing take place at the end of the season. However, a lot of folks I talked to said that it didn’t really feel quite like two back-to-back rounds. Likely because a good number of folks went home in between these two rounds as opposed to the opening rounds in Florida/Georgia where most folks make a long trip out of those events.

Another week has come and gone and we’re yet again going racing at Powerline Park. It’s an annual thing to have back-to-back opening rounds down south but due to this year’s ISDE schedule, we’re experiencing back-to-back rounds in the fall as well. This threw a pretty unique curve to the 2016 schedule but overall, it really doesn’t feel like it’s that much different than a two-week break between rounds. This weekend’s Powerline Park GNCC could see champions crowned and we have the info on that coming up a little later.
Quick Fill #34: This Week in GNCCSeptember 22, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill.
It’s time to go GNCC Racing once again and this time we’ve got another set of back-to-back races coming up. This is something we’re used to with our opening rounds in Florida and Georgia but it hasn’t been done before at the end of the season. This will make things pretty interesting as only a week to recover from a tough and rocky Mountaineer Run GNCC before heading to Powerline Park will help to show whos the fittest of the fit. Speaking of the Mountaineer Run course, I’ve got some info on that coming up a little bit later so be sure to read ahead to know what you’re in store for this weekend!
