Whew, it’s hard to believe that the opening rounds have already come and gone. At times, it seems like the off-season drags on and then once it gets down to crunch time, then into race time, all of that time flies by. Regardless, I believe everyone really enjoyed the tracks for this year’s first two rounds. They were a good bit different than what we’ve experienced in the past and there were very few people who didn’t have a blast.

Last week, after the first round of GNCC, DeLong visited a hand specialist and found that his Scapholunate Ligament has been torn.
Obermeyer Suzuki MCS Race Report: CannonballMarch 17, 2016Once again the Suzuki RM-Z450’s of Chris Douglas and Ricky Russell would fire to life quickly and put them in the lead pack off the start. Chris would jump in the woods in second and find himself riding mid pack for most of the race and was ready to mount a charge until until a missed placed tree would end his day with a busted radiator. Ricky would be consistent on the day and end up in 9th in XC1.

Video Report: Cannonball ATVsMarch 17, 2016It would not take long for Fowler to make his way to the front of the pack, but Maxxis/Fly Racing/HMF/Ye Olde Cycle Barn/Suzuki’s Chris Borich was right behind him. The two battled and passed the first place position to each other a couple of times, but eventually Fowler was able to see a clear trail pulling away in the last half-mile of the race.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang Takes Round 2 WinMarch 16, 2016Round 2 of GNCC took place in Sparta, Georgia where rider Josh Strang claimed his second overall win of the season! With the rain passing, the course was left with wet sand, hard-pack, tree roots, and a few mud holes. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racings Josh Strang started the race off in 3rd, but made a quick pass into 2nd place.
UX Race Report: Round 2 Maxxis CannonballMarch 16, 2016The Team UXC Racing family came together again in Sparta after a week of preparation ready to take on the Georgia clay. Thankfully, unlike last year, the sun was shining and the temperature was in the 80s. It was going to be warm and humid when the flag dropped. The track was fast and flowing but would be sure to rough up as the race went on. Polaris chassis, Teixeira-Tech A-arms and Custom Axis suspension set up would be critical on race day to make the most of the strong power of the Polaris Scrambler 1000XP motor. With 10 miles of track to tackle, lappers were still going to be an issue even on such a fast going course with plenty of open sections.
Brycen Neal Secures Third Overall at Cannonball GNCC in GeorgiaMarch 16, 2016The Coastal Racing/MSR/Maxxis/Waynesburg Yamaha team captured two podium finishes on Saturday at round two of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series in Sparta, Georgia. At the inaugural Cannonball GNCC, Brycen Neal secured his second straight podium finish in the XC1 Pro Class, while his teammate Eli Kiger finished second in the College B (16-21) Class in his rookie season.
