Quick Fill #21: This Week in GNCCJuly 13, 2017Welcome to Quick Fill. Summer break is here! Although it wasn’t the same time frame as originally planned, it seems to be a welcome break for some, while others are chomping at the bit to get back to racing. Of course, if you go anywhere outdoors on much of the east coast right now you’ll probably be glad that we’re not racing until things cool down a little! Of course, there’s still plenty of opportunities to get in your racing fix throughout the summer break and we’ll tell you about some of those as the break rolls on.

Coastal Racing's Layne Michael Claims his First XC2 Victory of the SeasonJuly 12, 2017It was another stellar day for the Coastal Racing/Husqvarna motorcycle team as all three riders earned top positions at the John Penton GNCC for Round 9 of the Grand National Cross Country Series. Team rider Layne Michael led the way with his first victory of the season in the XC2 250 Pro (16-24) class, joined atop the podium by teammate Craig DeLong in 3rd. Ryan Sipes put forth an impressive ride to secure 4th overall amongst a stacked field of riders in the XC1 Open Pro division.
Coastal Racing ATV Team Report: John Penton GNCCJuly 12, 2017Coastal Racing/Answer/Maxxis/Waynesburg Yamaha ATV Team rider Drew Landers returned to the center of the podium on Saturday with an impressive College A (16-21) victory at the John Penton GNCC, Round 9 of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series. Additionally, team rider Brycen Neal secured a 4th overall finish in the XC1 Pro ATV class, while the duo of Sean Bogdan and Jade Kiger came away with a season-best 4th overall in the XC1 Pro UTV class.

Tuesday Toolbox: Graham WiddicombeJuly 11, 2017Graham Widdicombe is an Englishman who has been racing 4x4 ATVs in the GNCC series for the last three years. He currently is competing in the 4x4 Senior class, and recently took his first-ever GNCC win at Snowshoe a few weeks ago. It was definitely not smooth sailing, but he got the job done. I gave Graham a call not long after The John Penton GNCC, to ask about Snowshoe and follow up on some of the things he talked about in his previous Tuesday Toolbox back in 2015.
