BNR/Loctite Race Report From Mountain Ridge
Monday, September 29, 2014 | 9:55 AM
This weekend GNCC race was positioned in the beautiful Somerset county PA. This track is usually a fun track to run as long as it has not been dry in the week or two leading up to the race. If the conditions are dry this is a very challenging track do to the amount of fields and dust that is disturbed during the race. Unfortunately, that was the case this year it was very dusty throughout the entire track which played a big role in the outcome of the racing.
Our morning rider Robert Smith got off to a pretty good start getting into the woods 3rd in his class. From there on the first lap he moved into the led a really found his groove. Coming through to complete his first lap he had a 19 second led on second place. He continued on throughout the rest of the race with a led bouncing between 10 and 30 seconds. On the forth lap he came in to take the checkered flag with a 27 second led his largest led of the race. After the race Robert was ecstatic. He was very happy to win the race. He said that he had put a lot of work in since the last race and he really want the win. He said he was very happy with his Can Am renegade 800, “It ran great the entire race, I couldn’t have asked for a better ATV, this thing is awesome”.
The afternoon race included our pro rider Kevin Yoho, Pro am rider Tom Koontz, and two junior A riders Mike Mcavoy and Nathan Hornacek. The afternoon race proved to be a tough trial for the BNR/ Loctite riders. All four riders got off to mid pack starts but from there they had a tough day. Yoho had some issues with the dust and faded to the 13th position our other afternoon riders were all having great days moving towards the front of the pack running in the top five when they suffered mechanical difficulties and suffered finishes outside the top ten.
Even with the bad luck that the team suffered at Mountain ridge they are all in great spirits and working harder than ever to make sure that they get themselves and their sponsors back on the podium in St Clairsville. Team BNR/ Loctite would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support throughout the 2014 race season.
