Slightly Bent Racing to Sponsor Veteran’s Pit Area

Slightly Bent Racing is proud to announce a unique partnership for the 2014 GNCC racing season.  Starting in Florida, we will be combining our pit efforts with the all Military Veteran team of Vigilant Vet Racing.  Founded in 2012, VVR completed its first successful season in 2013, and has more than doubled in size going into 2014.  But these men and women aren’t just racing for fun; they also carry with them a message.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder affects an estimated 1 out of 5 troops returning home from a combat zone and this organization is aiming to raise awareness of this condition as well as improve the lives of these Veterans and their families by introducing them to the sport of cross country ATV racing.  And to be competitive in this sport it is important to keep your time in the pit to a minimum.  That’s where SBR steps in.

The idea behind this pit area is simple.  We want to provide a place where friends and family can feel comfortable spectating and where the racer can feel confident knowing that their pitting needs will be taken care of in a timely and organized manner.  Morning racers will pit for afternoon racers and vice versa.  The area will be clearly marked with “Veteran’s Pit Stop” flags and a row of canopies generously provided by VVR sponsor, GT Thunder.  The area is open to all members of the military, past and present.  For more information on how you can help raise PTSD awareness, visit www.vigilantvetracing.com or contact:
