Quick Fill #19: This Week in GNCCMay 12, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill. This weekend we continue the saga of the 2016 GNCC Racing season with the Limestone 100 GNCC in Springville, Indiana. Russell Aims to Claim Limestone 100 GNCC Overall WinMay 12, 2016Lawrence County Recreational Park in Springville, Indiana, will host the sixth round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, this weekend, May 14 and 15. While FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell has dominated the past three rounds, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing/Bel-Ray’s Josh Strang has not lost sight of the National Championship.
Video Report: Camp Coker Bullet BikesMay 11, 2016The new venue located in Society Hill, South Carolina was an instant hit among racers and fans, but the lighting storm also made quite the impression forcing the race being cut short to two hours to accommodate the deteriorating track that quickly became impassable with the substantial amount of rain that occurred prior to the start. The GNCC Track Crew worked diligently to completely re-route the race track for the 1 p.m. pro race, and once the checkered flag flew on the grueling six-lap race it was FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell who landed on the middle of the box and took home the inaugural win.

Once they crossed the finish line for the first lap McGill had a nine second lead over N-Fab/Maxxis/AmPro Yamaha/Lonestar/MXP’s Walker Fowler in second.

Although there have only been two names to reign victorious this year, there is a whole field of racers who eager and capable of taking the round six win.

The track laid out by the GNCC team was fast going with grass track sections, some woods and also incorporated the MX track at the venue. The terrain was sandy and while the track looked good on inspection, it was sure to rut up with every lap.

Quick Fill #18: This Week in GNCCMay 5, 2016Welcome to Quick Fill. Another round is history as we continue to rocket our way through the 2016 GNCC Racing season. The inaugural Camp Coker Bullet GNCC was a load of fun for some, and a tough weekend at the races for others. Saturday’s ATV races saw near-perfect conditions, even with a few little wet spots, but unfortunately the rains came Sunday morning and made things pretty challenging for those in the 10AM and 1PM races. It’s very unfortunate because the track was an absolute blast before the rain put a bit of a hurting on the racecourse.
