With hot and dry conditions, the racing action wasn’t the only thing heating up at the eleventh round of the 2017 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship.
Racer X Insight: Ryan SipesSeptember 27, 2017Ryan Sipes switched from full-time motocross and supercross to off-road racing in the Amsoil Grand National Cross Country Championship for the 2014 season. Ever since he decided to make the move, he was considered a man with the speed to win a race, but a victory proved elusive—he’s put together a few strong runs, then a few tough ones, and eventually nearly four full seasons had passed without Sipes getting to the center of the podium.

Tuesday Toolbox: Hannah HunterSeptember 26, 2017“Hurricane Hannah” Hunter is the youngest rider in the women’s amateur ATV class, and on the smallest bike too. But she is making a name for herself – she is currently second in points and wants to move up to the WXC class at the first chance she gets. As she’s only 15, and you have to be 16 to race WXC, she has to bide her time in the amateur class until midway through next season. She marked down her second win of the season at the most recent round of GNCC racing, last weekend at the Mountaineer Run.

The eleventh round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series put the racers to the test with unexpected hot and humid weather conditions, but the KR4 team produced solid results atop of Marvin’s Mountain Top.

John Glauda Jr. landed 1st place on the afternoon amateur podium with a 9th overall finish. Ken Robey, Hannah Hunter, Richard Taylor and Wesley Smith were victorious. Team UXC Race Report: Mountaineer RunSeptember 26, 2017After a much depleted Unadilla race, the team were back to full strength with all of their machines and racers as UTVs are back in action! Marvin’s Mountain Top of West Virginia welcomed Team UXC and the racing nation family. The weather was hot and there wasn’t a sign of rain anywhere, which was thankful given the rocky nature of this track. Early track walks showed that the boulders and rocks were still big, the dust was going to be a factor and it was going to test rider and machine to the limit.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang Has Unfortunate ResultSeptember 26, 2017Mountaineer Run, Round 11 of the GNCC took place this weekend in Masontown, West Virginia where weather was in the low 80’s with mid-level humidity. This round was a ten mile loop with lap times averaging about 27 minutes. Conditions were extremely dusty and rocky making it hard to see a lot of obstacles.

AMSOIL GNCC Racing ATV Highlights: Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Mountaineer Run GNCCSeptember 24, 2017Race conditions were near perfect with a hot and humid day at the sixth annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Mountaineer Run GNCC in Masontown, West Virginia. The lack of race meant dust was a huge factor at the eleventh round of the 2017 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC), presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, but WFR/Yamaha/Maxxis/Fly Racing’s Walker Fowler didn’t let it faze him where he once again made his way to the middle of the box to take home the coveted overall win.
