GNCC Racers Earn Top Honors at the 2017 AMA Championship BanquetJanuary 22, 2018The 2017 American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Championship Banquet took place this past weekend at the Hilton Downtown Columbus in Columbus, Ohio. Many top racers from the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC), an AMA National Championship, were in attendance to receive their 2017 AMA National No. 1 plates and compete for the AMA’s highest competitive honors.

Tuesday Toolbox: Cody MillerJanuary 16, 2018The top UTV racer of the 2017 season is Cody Miller, from Greenville, Texas. The 30-year-old started out racing ATV Motocross before making the switch over to a different type of four-wheeled racing. He competed on a Yamaha YXZ 1000R SS. Despite the major time commitment racing a UTV entails, he and his brother, Hunter, run a cattle ranch as well as an art glass company down in Texas.

The pre-season rolls on as we begin to see more and more folks beginning to take some trips south to get in some off-season practice, a little racing and just some fun times in general. Speaking of pre-season races, last week I mentioned a couple put on by the SERMA club in South Carolina but there’s actually another event coming up before then in Denver, North Carolina which has a long history in the sport of off-road racing, dating back to the 1970s when the town played hosted to North Carolina’s version of the Blackwater 100, known as the Denver 100.

He hails from Monterey, Tennessee, and competed on a YFZ450 for the Coastal Racing/Waynesburg Yamaha team. This season he will be moving up into the XC2 Pro-Am class. We caught up with Drew to hear about his success in 2017, and his plans for the upcoming year!
