SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2020-9:

Change to Amateur Rules for Class Championship Events Required and Broadcast Details for Bulldog GNCC

GNCC Racing will return to competition this weekend for the Bulldog GNCC in Washington, Georgia.  We understand that for some the decision to return to racing is difficult for various reasons, i.e., financial, health concerns, etc.

To address some of these concerns GNCC Racing has developed a social distancing policy that will be implemented this weekend for the protection of our staff, riders, teams and their families and crew.  This policy was based on guidance from the Safe-to-Race Toolkit recently issued by the Safe-to-Race Task Force, a group of 40 professionals experienced in the motorsports industry.

This event has not been advertised or promoted to the general public.  Our intent is to host an event restricted to our riders, teams and their families and crew.  We have obtained the approval of the local authorities to conduct the event and we will comply with their direction.  We are prepared to practice proper social distancing and feel confident that our riders and their families and crew members will do so as well.  Please come prepared with face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE).

To minimize the number of staff on-hand, GNCC has made the difficult decision to eliminate the Racer TV live stream broadcasts for this event and to focus on the competition staff necessary to conduct the event.  The Pro post-race highlight shows will be broadcast on MAVTV, our cable partner, at a later date.  We will however attempt to broadcast the announcer audio feed live on the live results page of the series website at  http://www.gncclive.com/

Finally, based on the circumstances, it is appropriate to reduce the number of events that will count towards class championships and national number assignments from 9 to 8 for the amateurs.  For those who have not yet made the decision to come, this may give them some peace of mind knowing they will have an additional drop at the end of the season if they decide not to attend.

We look forward to seeing our race family this weekend.
