Welcome to Quick Fill.

First and foremost our apologies for the lack of Quick Fill posts the past few weeks. Things have been pretty crazy preparing, running and cleaning up down at Loretta Lynn’s, but things have finally began to slow down a bit and we’re ready to start counting down the days until we go GNCC Racing once again. However, we still have a few events to get through including this week’s Budds Creek Pro Motocross and of course next weekend’s Pro Motocross event at Ironman. So, while the GNCC summer break is in full swing, there’s no break for the Racer Productions staff!

Since we do have Budds Creek this weekend, we’ll keep this edition of Quick Fill a bit on the short side, as there’s a lot of work to catch up on. In addition to that, Rita’s motorhome had some mechanical issues on the way to Budds Creek, so GNCC IT Guru, Jeremy Holbert, had to make due and get Rita and the registration trailer to Budds Creek in a little bit different fashion; just a simple pickup truck! So, when you’re out on the road and have issues that alter your plans making it to the race, you’re not alone! It happens to everyone, and we’ve had plenty of issues of our own over the years.

Earlier this year, our service truck (which houses a bunch of tools, fuel, air compressor and numerous other items that make the events a bit easier) blew a turbo and we had to fight through the entire Camp Coker event, and a few days of X-Factor without it. In the end, it all worked out but it’s a classic case of not know how tough it is to miss a vehicle until you don’t have it at all. At the same time, we were short one camper at X-Factor this year as it needed an axel replaced and was not available in time. So the guys had to make due and a couple of members of the GNCC track crew had to cram an extra guy in one camper, while Ryan Echols spent the X-Factor event sleeping in the sleeper of the semi he drives!

For those who have never been in a semi sleeper, they’re pretty nice for an overnight stay, or maybe two nights at the most but Ryan declined the offer for a hotel room and toughed it out for SEVEN nights at X-Factor! Now, he was able to grab showers in one of the other campers but that’s still a prime example of doing what you’ve got to do to make sure the show goes on. I’m sure everyone who has chased the GNCC series for any amount of time has experienced something along those lines themselves and pushed through it to make it to the race. Why wouldn’t you? In the end, even if you face adversity to make it happen, a weekend of racing is better than any other weekend.

So, that’s kind of a quick rambling of what has been going on in our world the past few days and the show continues on as we’re busy out here at Budds Creek. With that said, we’ll end this short edition of Quick Fill and pick back up next week where we’ll get a full update from across the GNCC Racing Nation. Until then, enjoy your weekend and if you see us out at Budds Creek, say hi!
