Just two weekends ago, October 29, Westley Wolfe made his second trip of the year to Crawfordsville, Indiana for the thirteenth and final round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship.

As the famed “10 seconds” was called and the green flag waved the race was on as Wolfe had his eyes set on moving into second in the National Championship standings. The track headed into the Indiana woods for a short section before opening up to the famed Ironman Raceway. Wolfe was able to showcase his ATV Motocross skills and make some quick passes to secure a top position. Wolfe was running in second when his case cracked, just two laps into the race. This misfortune ultimately took Wolfe out of the race and the fight for the runner-up position in points.

“Looking back at the season I am extremely proud of the things that my team and I were able to accomplish,” said Wolfe. “To get third in my first season in the Pro-Am ranks is unbelievable. I can’t find enough words to thank my sponsors for their support in both the GNCC and ATVMX series.”

The eight-month long journey to become one of the top XC2 Pro-Am riders took a tremendous amount of training and dedication. Wolfe will spend his off-season preparing for the 2017 season where it has yet to be decided if he will contend for the XC2 Pro-Am or XC1 Pro title. Either way, Wolfe will definitely be a rider to keep an eye on next season.
