Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang A Close Second at GNCC Round 6

The Limestone 100 GNCC, Round 6, took place this past weekend in in Springville, IN. The course was short compared the usual GNCC courses. It was roughly 9 miles long which usually makes for tight, intense racing. Due to the rain leading up to the event and a small storm that passed through Friday night, the course was very soft and muddy in some areas, leading to a small reroute of the course.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang had a bike length lead going into the first turn. Due to the start being on the side of a hill, the corners were very off camber and this caused Strang to lose a couple spots.
Towards the end of the 1st lap, Strang made his way into 5th place and bunched up with the lead pack, only 15 seconds from the leader. By the end of lap 2, he made his way into 3rd still within reach of the top 2. The race was a 3 rider battle for th lead during lap 3, with all 3 riders within 5 seconds of each other. Josh Strang then moved into the lead for the next 2 laps. On the final lap, still in the lead, Strang had to pit for new goggles, where he lost his lead. By mile 3, he worked himself back into the first postion and for the next 5 miles he would hold strong. With only about quarter mile left, Strang got passed and finished the race only a ½ bike behind the leader.
"The race went well. I was up front most of the day, and was leading into the last lengths of the race, then got passed. I am really bummed, but that's how racing goes. I felt good all day and am looking for a good finish next round." Said Josh Strang.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Andrew DeLong did not participate in this round due to a previously sustained injury.
