Obermeyer Suzuki MCS Race Report: Wild Boar

Thursday, March 10, 2016 | 1:20 PM

The Suzuki Squad of the Obermeyer MCS race team made its way to the sunshine state to line up against the nations best riders to battle on a perfectly prepared racer production course.

In the afternoon Pro XC1 race the start was exciting as the Suzuki RM-Z450 mounted riders Ricky Russell and Chris Douglas would cross the holeshot line in front of a deep field of talent.

Ricky and Chris would enter the woods 1st and 2nd on the 11 mile course of sand whoops and mud bogs. Towards the end of lap 1 Ricky would encounter some vines that would find him

slipping to 3rd at the close of lap 1. The sugar sand would not be kind to Ricky though out the day and he would settle in 10th on the day. Chris would experience his own challenges on the

opening lap and he would finish lap 1 in 11th where he would spend most of the 3 hour race after losing contact with the pack.8

We are excited to move back North to the Georgia clay for round 2.
