Monday, May 11, 2015 | 4:50 PM
The Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4/FAR Arrive-N-Ride Team travelled to Odessa, New York over the weekend for the inaugural running of the Tomahawk GNCC. With a brand new race venue and extremely dusty terrain, the Arrive-N-Ride Team prevailed, capturing a total of 13 top ten finishes throughout the weekend in the Youth, Amateur and Pro ranks. The team showcased Kaleb Ward and Conner Keegan as AMSOIL "Featured Riders" to participate in additional press throughout the weekend and have their bike displayed on Pro Row with the top racers in the country.
In the afternoon race, Jobel Coronado made his return to GNCC for the second time this season all the way from the Dominican Republic, capturing a big win in the Open B class. Coronado took advantage of the KR4 Arrive-N-Ride services to make his stay in the U.S. as seamless as possible!
In the XC1 class, Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4/FAR Arrive-N-Ride rider Thad DuVall got off to a great start aboard his Husqvarna FC350, where he led the way on the opening lap. DuVall soon ran into brake-fluid issues that would cause him to pull into the pits for a quick repair. The KR4/FAR crew had DuVall back and going but bad luck struck again for the West Virginia native as he lost brakes once again, this time resulting in a big crash around the halfway mark. DuVall suffered a few minor injuries that left him on the sidelines for the rest of the race.
In the XC2 Pro Lites class, team rider Nick Davis got off to a great start only to hit something in the dust and break off his front brake caliper. Davis came into the pits where the KR4/FAR crew swapped his front forks, allowing him to continue racing. However, bad luck struck once again when the dusty conditions caused another mechanical issue that would ultimately end the day for Davis.
