Daytona Bike week was filled with excitement and with major events including Off-Road events Endurocross, Supercross and a packed house for the Grand National Cross Country race located at the Rodman Plantation, Palatka, Florida.
The course consisted of woods filled with black sand and clay mix soil, including palmetto roots, whoops, and alligator ponds that will swallow a compact car. JCR/Honda's Chris Bach, armed with a 2015 Honda CRF450R, Took on the best Cross-country racers in the USA.
Chris netted a mediocre start inside the top ten, he quickly moved to the top five during the first of 6, twenty-seven minute laps.
The course was well worn from the previous classes over the two days of racing that hosted nearly 1800 racers. The massive fan base was not to be disappointed as the top five battled for podium positions. By the end of lap three, Bach slid in for a quick refueling pit stop worked by JCR technicians "Cookie", Eric Siraton and Hide Hanawa.
The team pit strategy and the quick work of the IMS refueling system gained him one position up to forth. At his point of the race, Bach had his Maxxis tire equipped Red Rocket poised to battle to the very end.
At the conclusion of the 6 laps, 3-hour race, Bach posted the fastest lap a nod to the Ryno Power Supplements regime the JCR/Honda team is using and a great sign of things to come. When the checkered flag dropped Chris had secured a 3rd OA podium position only seconds behind the 2nd place finisher.
"This race proved that the JCR/Honda squad is on the right track, nabbing our first podium for GNCC. Chris and the Fly Racing-Lucas Oil/Maxxis tire backed Honda CRF450R has matured into a formidable Podium threat, in this prestigious series. We plan to kick butt and take names this season. Thanks so much to my awesome support staff, Hide, Eric, Cookie and Chris for all the dedication and hard work! Looking forward to round 2 next weekend in Georgia."
