TF Racing, Action Kawasaki, and DirtWise Riding Schools backed Jesse Ansley placed 1st in the 85 12-13 classes and 1st Overall at the GNCC Round Number 1 in Bunnell, FL.  The race took place on Sunday March 9, 2014.

What an awesome weekend it was at the opening round of the GNCC series. Getting the Youth Overall was such an amazing feeling. My team and I have been working very hard to achieve this and doing it in front of my family and friends was very special to me.

After working on the bike Saturday night we are finally ready for the first round of the GNCC circuit, it’s go time! I showed up a little early and got a good spot on the starting grid. By the start I had, you could say I picked a good spot. I passed for first before the holeshot line, which means I got the holeshot!  I was a little conservative in the fields because at 8 o’clock the grass is very slippery. We soon jump into the woods were the course becomes a little game called “pick a line”. It was either the left or right side of the trail because the four-wheeler ruts were bad. If you could, the best line was to ride in the middle (on top). About the 2-mile mark I started catching the row ahead of me. The track was roomy for the most part so you could get around them fairly quick. I fell once, hit my shoulder pretty good but it’s only bruised.

There was only one bad mud hole on the whole entire track, which was about mile marker 4. It had a hard bottom but you had no traction, like riding on ice. I got stuck once but with steady throttle control and pushing I was out in 10-15 seconds. After that you had a mile of fields that loosened the mud from your tires so you gained traction again. Only one bottleneck this race, which is unusual, I got by quick. I didn’t have to stop for goggles but I did end up stopping for fuel just to make sure. We figured we did have enough but better safe than sorry.

I thought the course was fun and I really enjoyed it. I had a good battle going with Daniel Spurgeon (Supermini 12-13) and Hunter Williams (Supermini 14-15). They both rode very strong and I’m glad I got to battle with them.  Good job to all the FTR riders that were out there ripping. I can’t wait to race again next week at round two of the GNCC series in Washington, GA.
