Kylie Ahart had a stellar 2013 season winning all but 1 round in the Women’s ATV ranks. “The Marietta Missile” is already looking forward to continuing that success into 2014 as well. We caught up with Kylie to talk about her 2013 season, plans for 2014 and more.

GNCCRacing.com: How's it going today?
Kylie Ahart: It's going pretty good.

How are you enjoying the off-season so far?
I haven't really had much of an off season yet. I raced the last MAXC race this past weekend. I'm planning on racing the Team Hare Scramble Championship of the World this weekend and then my off season will officially start.

Staying busy! Are you already jonesing to get back into the swing of GNCC Racing though? I’ve heard a few people already saying they are.
Definitely! I'm pretty sure Kara Merritt already has a countdown until Florida and it seems like it's forever away.

What are your plans for the rest of the winter?
I'm going to try to ride as much as possible and hopefully head south for a little training with Kendall Taylor. I might race some of the Mid-South Series but that's not for sure yet. Also going to try to get some seat time in with Kamren and Ciera Bobb. Hopefully we will get some snow this year, you can never pass up a good sledding party.

So, how did it feel to come away with the Women's class championship?
It was a dream come true. Traci Cecco-Pickens was, and always will be one of my idols and to have her cheering me on throughout the year was really awesome. I had such an amazing group of sponsors this year and it was exciting to be able to win it, not only for myself but for them as well.

And you had a heck of a year too! The only race you didn't win was due to mechanical issues, right?
Yeah, but that's racing. You never know what kind of freak accidents are going to happen. Mechanical issues are just a part of racing. You don't expect them but they happen. I can't thank Dave Bayless, Chris Neal, and my dad, Chuck Ahart, enough for spending countless hours wrenching on my bike getting it ready for race day.

Is there anything you would've liked to have done differently though?
I absolutely love the sponsors I had this year. I knew coming into this season that with all these great companies on board, we could win the championship. The only thing I wish that would've been different this year would be more recognition for all the female riders out there. This year the women's class started on the fifth row, I'd like to have the chance to start closer to the front again.

What was your biggest highlight of the season?
I'd have to say my biggest highlight of the season was getting on the podium at The Penton and at The Ironman. That was awesome.

What are your plans for 2014?
I’m still in contract negotiations with Dave Bayless Motorsports to ride Honda's. We’re close to signing a deal but we need to work out a few contractual details. I’m confident that we can get it finalized before the GNCC Banquet at the end of this month though.

What do you hope to accomplish in 2014?
Of course I’d like to defend my title, but my ultimate goal for 2014 is going after that 201 plate.

What about beyond 2014, what do you hope to accomplish down the road?
I'm working on getting a degree in Digital Media. My hopes with that would be to have a career in the racing industry. I hope to keep racing for as long as I can too.

Alright, before we wrap this up, who would you like to thank?
First off I owe a huge thanks to Dave and Angie Bayless for everything they have done for me this year. My family, especially my dad, for all the support and for believing in me from day one. DC Cycles, David Crane, for the amazing power my engine had this year and not mention the holeshots. Dirtworks Motorsports, Josh and Randy Owens, for my awesome suspension setup this year. Teixeira Tech, Ed Teixeira, for all the support and those good looking A-Arms. Get It Performance, Chad Walters and the Get It Crew, for the amazing support and help throughout the season. All Pro Nutrition, Rob Gilliand, for the keeping me healthy for the past three years and for the best smoothies. GNCC for having some great tracks this year and giving me the opportunity to participate in the school visits. And a special thanks to all the other sponsors that made this year possible; KAhart Racing, MAXC Series, Rekluse, Spider Graphix, Maxxis, OGIO, Scott, HiPer, ODI Grips, Clarke Tanks, ORP, DP Brakes, ASV, Fly Racing, HMF, Leatt, CV4, Fasst Co., Fox Shox, CTF Racing, and Dragon Fuel. Also a huge thanks all the families, friends, and fans that made this year possible.
