Kevin Yoho has proved himself to be a top 10 threat to the XC1 ATV ranks. After finishing out the 2012 season in 7th place, Yoho came into 2013 with hopes of improving upon that and has already logged a couple of top 5 finishes in 2013. We caught up with Kevin to hear about his 2013 season and more.

GNCCRacing.com: How's everything going today?
Kevin Yoho: Everything is great here. I just got off work, and I'm heading to the gym.

Have you gotten everything cleaned up from Kentucky?
We're working on it. I washed the quad for an hour and a half or so Sunday. I'm planning on hitting it again tomorrow evening.

That’s a lot of cleaning! So how exactly did The Mammoth go for you
The race went well. I had a blast racing it along with a career best fourth place finish!

What was the toughest part for you?
I’d have to say riding without goggles. It seemed like I would make it a little over halfway through the lap and then need to take them off.

What would you like to have done different?
I made it into the lead because of a jam up on the third lap, but I took a line that turned out to be a dead end. I'm not saying I would have won or even been on the podium, but I regretted it for sure.

How did it feel to put in another top 5?
It was a good feeling to get another top five. I want to be as fast as I can, but also as consistent as possible. I want to try and stay around the top five and possibly get on the podium.

What's it going to take to do that more this season?
I think I just need to ride more. We just built a new quad for The Mammoth and are trying to sell one. Once things get back to normal I may try riding once during the week.

What would it take to work your way onto the overall podium?
I think I just need to keep working hard and be in the right place at the right time. I know it will be tough.

How has the rest of your 2013 season been going?
I don't have any complaints. My team and I have had a lot of fun. I was a little nervous coming into the season for Florida and Georgia with the spleen injury. I was mostly healed up but my strength and cardio weren't up to par, so my initial plan was to see how I felt and go from there. Everything went well the first two rounds and keeps getting better.

What are your goals for the rest of the 2013 season?
I want to improve my overall number and class finish from last year, but I’d really love to put it on the box once.

So let’s go back. How did you get started in the offroad world?
My parents got me my first ATV when I was four or five. My first race was in 2000 at a CRA race in Salem, Oh. I've been hooked ever since then.

What brought you into GNCC Racing?
We were at a local event where I met my buddy Ryan Smith and he suggested I try the GNCC's. My first season was in 2005 and I’ve been hooked and racing them since.

What has been the biggest highlight of your career?
I'd have to say it’s a tie between making the event t-shirt at Steele Creek, and my first pro race. I was really proud to hear my name announced while lining up.

So what do you hope to accomplish in the future?
I want to keep improving as best as I can but still have fun. At this time racing isn't a job for me so I want to have a good time doing it.

What will it take for you to get there?
If things keep going the way they are I’ll get better for sure. I’ve got great support from my sponsors, family and friends. I can't thank them enough. Without their support, I wouldn't be where I am now and would never make it to where I want to be.

Alright, before we wrap this up, who would you like to thank?
I’d like to thank my friends and family, Big Nutz Racing, BNR Motorsports, GT Thunder, Chester Vet Clinic, GBC, HMF, IQ Equipment, Moose Racing, Precision, Hiper, G4 Graphics, Powermadd, Spider Grips, IMS, All Balls, Wiseco, DP Brakes, Astrisk, X Country Photos, Ryan, Rob, Mac, Cory, AJ, Courtney, Johnny G, Jen Kenyon, and Mr. Jared Bolton for the Tuesday Toolbox.
