How's it going today?
Pretty good. Hot, but good.

Are you ready to go racing this weekend at the John Penton?
Not really! We've had a really bad storm this past week, so I have been working 14-16 hour days hooking up and servicing generators. Hopefully things will settle down and I can get everything ready on the 4th since I have the day off.

How has the Penton treated you in the past?
I've had ups and downs there, but I'll never complain about a GNCC that’s an hour from home. I definitely think it’s going to be a warm one!

What are your hopes for this year's Penton?
My goal is always to try to land on the podium. Anytime I'm on the trailer talking to Rodney, it’s a good day.

How has your 2012 season been going?
I can't complain. I have had a couple issues and I can't seem to keep it on four wheels recently, but I'm having a blast chasing those guys!

What will it take to land more podiums?
All the speed I can muster and riding smart.

What are your goals for the remainder of the season?
I want to continue to improve and have a good time. At the end of the day this is a hobby for me and I just want to enjoy it.

How do you plan on spending your summer break?
I have a lot of house and farm work to catch up on, so I will try to get things back under control for a couple of weeks. I really want to ride as much motocross as I can and just try to improve my conditioning over the break.

How do the final rounds suit you?
I really like all four of the remaining rounds. I love the soil at Unadilla. Power Line is 45 minutes from the house. Ironman is my favorite track, and I think running Loretta's last is a nice way to finish the year.

Do you think you can take a win at any of the final rounds?
I am beginning to believe I can.

What would it take to get a win?
For me it will take everything I have, and a little luck wouldn't hurt either.

How tough is the competition in the XC2 ProAm class?
I think it’s super tough. They're a good group of guys who are super talented. Everyone I have ridden with has raced clean and been fun to battle with.

Have you given any thought to 2013 yet?
Honestly I haven't.

Alright, before we wrap this up, who would you like to thank?
I am blessed to have a wonderful wife who puts up with my obsession, two boys who love to cheer me on, and parents who rarely miss a race. I am also fortunate to have an awesome group of sponsors behind me. Greg's ATV, AXIS shocks, ATV Four-Play, Spider Graphix, ITP, Rath Racing, Tireballs, HMF, DP brakes, All Balls, Dirtworks, Twin Air, Powermadd, Sunstar, Silkolene, Waynesburg Yamaha, Hiper wheels, One Industries, Fasst Co., Spider grips, and X-Country Photos.
