It’s going pretty good. Went to the Chiropractor and got my workout in for the day and watching my nephew for a few hours. Then going to get some more cardio in since it rained and I didn't get to ride.
So how have you spent these few weeks off?
The past few weeks have been kind of crazy. I'm building a new bike for the last two races before the break so I've been doing a lot of running back and forth to Ohio to Greg's ATV. My practice bike blew up on me so I haven’t got to ride as much as I would like, but Chris Bithell is coming down Tuesday so we can get some riding in.Ã
Are you ready to get back to racing this weekend?
I'm pretty excited to go to Snowshoe. It's close to home and a lot of friends and family show up. Plus I'm ready to get on a new bike and get back into this championship hunt.Ã
How has Snowshoe treated you in the past?
Snowshoe has been pretty good to me really. I got 2nd there last season.
What are your hopes for Snowshoe this year?
This year at Snowshoe I hope to leave with a good finish. I want to win XC2. You have to finish to win! I had a lot of family and friends at the last event in Masontown, but had a mechanical failure so I want to redeem myself and do good for them.Ã
What is it going to take for you to accomplish that?
Have a bike that's ready to win. No mistakes, pick good lines, stay calm and most important, don't ever give up!
How do you feel about the course at Snowshoe?
I like snowshoe. Just everything up there makes the race better. It has a lot of different terrain.Ã
Does the long, grueling course play out to your skills?
I like the rough rocky technical tracks. It’s just something I've always rode and practice on so it should be a good time.Ã
You've snagged a couple of wins this season, what will it take to get more of those?
I've won 3 races this season so far. I was hoping for more but I’ve been having some bike problems. We got them all figured out, I hope! (laughs) So no more bike trouble and the wins will come.Ã
What are your goals for the rest of the 2012 season?
The goals for the rest of the season are to finish each race on the podium and win the xc2 championship. No more messing around (laughs)
How has the competition in the XC2 class been this year?
The competition in XC2 is crazy! Everyone just keeps getting faster.
Do you see the competition getting stiffer as the season wears on?
I think you will see guys getting faster as the season wears on. Then the last few races is where it really counts.Ã
Have you given any thought to 2013 yet?
The 2013 season is going to be here before we know it. I have been thinking about what to do next season. I just don't want to lose focus on my goal for 2012. It’s just hard to plan for next season because there isn't enough help out there. So hard to tell what's going to happen for 2013. I just hope it involves me racing a quad on the front line.
Alright, before we wrap this up, who would you like to thank?
First off I would like to thanks my parents, brother and his wife for everything they do, Gregs ATV, Waynesburg Yamaha and staff, Custom Axis, Fly Racing, Maxxis, Hiper Wheels, Motoworks, Precision, Houser, Lonestar racing, Flexx, Fasst, G4, Quad Tech, Silkolene, Powermadd, Big Nutz Racing, X Country Photos, Ken Hill at ATVRriders, Quad Radio, Crowtown Customs, Preston Memorial Hospital, Layne Micheal and his family for letting me ride at his place, and just all my friends and family that are involved in my racing. Thanks to all my sponsors for everything I couldn't do it myself. Shoutout to Keffy at Waynesburg Yamaha too.
