Race Report
Round 13 of the GNCC Series
Team Off Camber Racing/Pro Moto Billet/Fastway

The Off Camber, Pro Moto Billet/Fastway Performance, Klim Gear, Rekluse Clutch, Yamaha race team headed for the final round of the Can-am GNCC Series in Crawsfordsville, Indiana.  The conditions were wet and cold on Saturday for the Quad race, but Sunday turned into a nice day and the rain held off to make racing conditions on the track almost perfect.

With Amanda Mastin on the the sidelines, still rehabbing her knee injury, the morning racing was left to her dad Randy Mastin, who himself has recently returned from some injuries.  Randy got a good start and ran with the leaders for several laps, until having bike problems and ending the day 7th in the class and 43rd Overall.  This was a frustrating year for Randy since he was very anxious to race against his old friend and rival, multi-time ISDE Medalist, Jeff Fredette, who also was fighting bike problems all day, but still ended up holding off the competition and winning the series Championship.  The Team would like to congratulate Jeff on his win and look forward to racing him in the future.  Randy ended up a very respectable 5th in the series, which is quite impressive for all he has been through this year.  The Team would also like to congratulate Amanda on another great year, winning yet another GNCC Championship, her 8th National Enduro Championship, her 1st OMA Championship and finishing yet another ISDE, all with an injured knee, job well done.

Since Morgan Moss has moved up to the 250 B Class, after winning the morning class, his 200 C Schoolboy (12-17), training partner Robert Kondik has been running in the morning race in the same class and holeshoting every race he has entered.  Robert has had good finishes in the morning, but looks forward to riding a YZ next year in the afternoon race.

Morgan Moss once again grabbed a holeshot on the competition in the 250 B Class and lead most of the race until he was overcome with major arm pump, Morgan ended up 2nd in the class, missing the win by just 15 seconds and finished a very impressive 70th overall.  Morgan also looks forward to being on a YZ next year and racing a full series in the afternoon.  The Team would like to congratulate Morgan for winning his Championship and looks forward to having him on the Team for the entire year.

The Team's XC2 Pro Lites rider, Johnny Barber gutted out yet another tough race on Amanda's WR250.  Johnny ran strong all day against the factory boys and finished 7th in the class and pushed hard to finish 18th overall.  Johnny has been looking to crack into the top 5 all year and it has been a goal since he moved to the WR, but switching to a whole new bike, half-way through the series, this is a tough task.  Off Camber Racing is excited to have Johnny race for them next year and is looking forward to getting him on his own YZF, so he start with and hang with the leaders all day.  Job well done, Johnny!

Off Camber Racing was proud to sponsor and support our own British GNCC Race Team.  Through our relationship and friendship with XC2 Pro Lites rider Jason Thomas and his dad Jeremy, we have made several British friends and it so happened they were able to come to Crawfordsville and race out of our pits.  British off road racer Rudy Austin spent the week training in Ohio before heading to Indiana to race.  Rudy opted to race the Vet B (30+) class and ended up on the box in 3rd, missing 2nd by 11 seconds, despite being the very last bike off of the starting line in the afternoon.  Rudy pushed hard all day and ended passing half the field to finish 105th overall.  Englishman Justin Wilson also raced under the Team's canopy in the Vet B (30+) class and beat the yankees to the checkered flag, taking 1st in the class and 80th overall for the day.  Furthermore, Justin Wilson did this on Randy Mastin's prized 1996 YZ250.  Justin was so impressed with the bike he is thinking about selling his 2008 and finding his own 1996 to race back home!  Proper job, mates and it was a pleasure to have you on the Team, look for the British Union Jack flying over the pits next year when the boys return to race again.  Check out Justin's website for complete information on British off road racing, ride-xc.co.uk.   Rumor has it Rudy may race for a series championship next year.   The Team would like to congratulate Jason Thomas on all his success this year, it has been a long time coming and a well deserved reward for all his time and effort.

The Team would like to thank all our family, friends, fellow racers, sponsors and fans for the support this year and look forward to next year.  A special thanks to Big John Moss and David Heath for all your hard work and time in the season.  Furthermore, congratulations to David Heath for finishing 4th for the year in the Masters B/C (50+) class.

The next race for Off Camber Racing will be the final EnduroCross in Las Vegas, where we are just going to hang out with all of our race friends.  However, it is rumored that Cody Mastin may race for the first time since his injury next weekend at the Goshen, Indiana Enduro.  Check out the website at www.teamoffcamber.com to view the team schedule, race reports and current updates.

Off Camber Racing would like to thank all its sponsors; Pro Moto Billet, Fastway Performances, Klim, Rekluse, Yamaha, Maxxis, Bel-Ray, Dirttricks, Clarke Mfg., Works Connection, FMF, Steahly Off-road, Scott, PG Graphics, Regina Chains, Factory Connection and Championship Powersports.
