Competition Bulletin 2020-8: Cancelled April 4/5 GNCC DateMarch 17, 2020Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the GNCC originally scheduled for April 4/5 at Steele Creek in Morgantown, NC, is now cancelled. The event was initially cancelled for the Steele Creek location only, with the date reserved for another location to be announced. However, given the current crisis in our country, GNCC now deems is prudent to cancel the date as well. Pre-entered riders will have their entries refunded.
Tuesday Toolbox: Johnny GirroirMarch 17, 2020Johnny Girroir recently won his first XC2 race at the Wild Boar GNCC and is the current points leader in a very stacked XC2 class. I talked to him immediately following The General, though the main focus of the interview was his first-ever XC2 win at Wild Boar last week. Johnny has been through a lot in the past several years, but if he can stay healthy he will definitely be a title contender in 2020.

Moose Racing Wild Boar GNCC: Youth Bike Race ReportMarch 13, 2020ound two of the 2020 Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, took place on March 7th and 8th. The race takes place at Hog Waller Mud Bog, on the edge of Rodman Plantation. The Hurricane GNCC took place near here many years ago, and since 2015 the GNCC series has returned to the area for Wild Boar. Since we are in Florida, obviously the place is pretty sandy, but the type of sand varies throughout the course, ranging from white sugar sand to a black-colored loam. Palmetto and tree roots also have a habit of sneaking up on you, and the mudholes can also present a challenge.
