Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang Claims 2nd at GNCC Round 7June 1, 2016The John Penton GNCC, Round 7, took place this past weekend in Millfield, IN.The course was roughly 11.2 miles of saturated woods, due to rain a few days before. On the day of the XC1 race, the weather was 80°F with very high humidity.
Can-Am ATV and Side-By-Side Vehicle Racers Earn Victories at John Penton GNCCMay 31, 2016Can-Am X-Team racers put in a dominating performance at the John Penton Grand National Cross Country race in Millfield, Ohio, winning both the XC1 Pro UTV and 4x4 Pro classes. Can-Am Maverick side-by-side pilots swept both the UTV overall and XC1 Pro UTV class podiums, while Can-Am Renegade 1000R racers finished 1-2 in both the 4x4 Pro class and on the morning podium.
Obermeyer/MCS Racing Suzuki Team Race Report: The John PentonMay 31, 2016The Obermeyer/MCS Racing Suzuki Team rolled into the seventh round, located in Millfield Ohio, with high anticipation for the beginning of the second half of the GNCC season. We were able to finally dodge wet conditions this weekend, but high humidity and temperatures was something to deal with all weekend long. The green flag waived on time at 1:00pm and all of the Suzuki racers were near the front of the deep field of competition.

Craig DeLong edged out his teammate Layne Michael in a close battle to the finish, where he captured his first-career victory in the XC2 Pro Lites Class.

In addition to its success on the track, the entire FMF KTM Factory Racing Team was on hand all day to support and encourage Youth off-road racers for the 12th Annual KTM Youth Day at the John Penton GNCC.

Kailub Russell Makes It Five-in-a-Row at The Wiseco John Penton GNCCMay 29, 2016The seventh round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, took place today, May 29, with The 27th Annual Wiseco John Penton GNCC at the popular Sunday Creek Raceway in Millfield, Ohio. The world’s fastest off-road racers were put to the test facing hot and humid race conditions, but at the end of the grueling three-hour race FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell would find himself in the middle of the box further extending his win streak to five-in-a-row.

Fowler Rises to the Top at The Wiseco John Penton GNCCMay 28, 2016The AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, continued today, May 28, in the Buckeye State with the 27th Annual Wiseco John Penton GNCC held at the popular Sunday Creek Raceway in Millfield, Ohio. After facing hot and humid conditions for the first time this season, it would be N-Fab/Maxxis/AmPro Yamaha/Lonestar/MXP’s Walker Fowler taking the overall win. Maxxis/Fly Racing/HMF/Ye Olde Cycle Barn/Suzuki’s Chris Borich and Coastal Racing/MSR/Maxxis’ Brycen Neal would battle it out until the very end to round out the overall podium in second and third.

This week’s edition of Quick Fill comes to you from Millfield, Ohio, home of this weekend’s Wiseco John Penton GNCC. The Penton is the oldest event currently on the GNCC schedule and has seen it’s fair share of incredibly great racing over the years and this weekend promises to be the same. If you read last week’s edition of Quick Fill, Rodney and I both discussed how intense the racing was at our previous round in Indiana and there’s a pretty good chance that we’ll see that intensity carry over to this weekend’s event.
