Quick Fill #30: This Week in GNCCAugust 23, 2018Welcome to Quick Fill.
While we typically try to focus each week’s edition of Quick Fill on positive happenings within the GNCC Racing world, sometimes we do have some very unfortunate news to report. This has proven to be a tough week for the GNCC Racing Nation as we’ve learned of the passing of two folks closely tied with our racing community. GNCC Youth bike racer, Cody Stickley, was tragically lost this past weekend. It’s impossible to put into words how terrible the loss of such a young and promising soul could be, but we did issue a PR yesterday. You can read that HERE.
GNCC Racing Family Mourns the Passing of Racer Cody StickleyAugust 22, 2018The GNCC Racing family mourns the loss of one of our brightest, youngest stars. Thirteen-year-old Cody Stickley, of McDonald, PA, passed away this past Sunday, August 19, 2018, as a result of an accident. Cody and his little Cooper Stickley challenge the GNCC Bike Youth Series. Cody is currently ranked 8th overall in the 85 (12-13) class and Cooper 4th in the Micro XC2 (6-8) class.
META - The Blackwater 100August 20, 2018Many would agree the Blackwater 100 is America’s original extreme offroad race. Before the terms “extreme enduro” or “hard enduro” even existed, before there was an EnduroCross Series, and before there was a Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series—there was the Blackwater 100.

Tuesday Toolbox: Andrew Matusek & Shelby RolenAugust 14, 2018There aren’t very many riders that can race both GNCC and motocross successfully – but these two can. Shelby Rolen and Andrew Matusek are two full-time GNCC racers who also raced at Loretta Lyn’s amateur nationals this year. Shelby races Women’s Pro Motocross (WMX) and the Women’s Pro class in the GNCC series (WXC), while Andrew raced the 30+ class at Loretta’s and Vet A at the GNCCs.
Quick Fill #29: This Week in GNCCAugust 9, 2018Welcome to Quick Fill.
It’s been a few hectic weeks for us as we’ve been down at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch for the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship last week and we now roll into this weekend’s ATV Motocross event. This should prove to be a pretty interesting race as Joel Hetrick and Chad Wienen are locking in an intense battle for the ATV Motocross National Championship, and it all comes down to these final two motos this Saturday. With that said, this week’s edition of Quick Fill will once again be a bit on the quick side as we’re busy here at the ranch getting things ready for this weekend.
Tuesday Toolbox: Steven Squire (SSR Rider Development)August 7, 2018Steven Squire, a former pro rider both in motocross and GNCC, has recently expanded his SSR Rider Development program by opening a training facility for both full-time and part-time residents, as well as Indiana locals. Unlike most other facilities out there though, Steven coaches a number of GNCC riders, and focuses just as much on training the woods riders as he does on the moto kids (though several of his riders did recently have stellar finishes at Loretta’s), making his facility an interesting development for off-road riding as a whole and GNCC in particular.

Quick Fill #28: This Week in GNCCJuly 26, 2018Welcome to Quick Fill.
This week’s edition of Quick Fill comes to you all the way from Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. We’re down at the ranch getting things ready for next week’s Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, so please bear with us as this and the next edition of Quick Fill will be a little bit on the short side. Things are beginning to come alive at the ranch, as there is already a pretty large number of riders camped out and ready to go racing next week. If you think people show up early for a GNCC event, think about the folks who have already been here for three days or longer and they don’t even hit the track until Monday!
Tuesday Toolbox: Tom EbersoleJuly 24, 2018Despite being 71 years old, you can still find Pennsylvania’s Thomas Ebersole out on the GNCC course, where he competes in the newly added Platinum (70+) class. Though the former ISDE club rider is currently second place in points, he has the most wins of anyone in the class, with five first-place finishes out of the six races he has attended. He hopes to win the championship this season, and if he continues to post finishes like that, he has a very good shot at it.
Quick Fill #27: This Week in GNCCJuly 19, 2018Welcome to Quick Fill.
The band Sly and the Family Stone had a funk/psychedelic soul song called “Hot Fun in the Summertime” and it seems like that’s exactly what the GNCC Racing Nation has been up to. Everywhere you look it seems like the GNCC faithful are having fun of some sort. Whether its riding, racing or vacation it seems like everyone is up to something fun as the summer break rolls by. For many, just because GNCC is on summer break doesn’t mean racing is taking a back seat. There’s still been a lot of racing going on and there’s more coming as we roll through the break.
