His teammate and XC1 Open Pro rookie, Josh Toth, joined him atop the overall podium with his first-career top-three finish in the overall.

X Factor is in the books! Rains leading up to the event led many folks to expect a mudder, but while there were definitely some tough and muddy areas, it definitely was not a full-blown mud race. By Sunday afternoon there were a lot of sections of the course that really began to tack up nice and while it was definitely soft and rutted out, the track got better as the weekend wore on. This led to some pretty good racing by the end of the weekend, and while it may not have been a tight battle for the bike win on Sunday, it had it’s own unique feel.

The 22-year-old from Bedford, Indiana is currently riding for the Phoenix Honda team, a newcomer to GNCC racing. Judging from his recent results, the new team seems to be agreeing with him!

Kailub Russell Earns Third Win of Season at X-Factor Whitetails GNCCMay 6, 2019The fifth round of the 2019 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, concluded on Sunday, May 5 in Peru, Indiana with the Yamaha Racing X-Factor Whitetails GNCC. FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell earned his third win of the season and 57th career overall win. K. Russell maintained a sizable lead throughout the entire race, leading from the opening lap until the checkered flag flew after three hours.
