Sunday, January 27, 2008 | 12:00 AM
Along with a redesigned layout and several new multimedia features, the site will also feature live timing and scoring at each of its 13 events this season. In addition, the Series will stream its PA announcers during the Pro portions of each event. These new features are facilitated by GNCC's purchase of a Motosat portable high-speed satellite Internet unit, which will be utilized by GNCC staff at each event.
GNCC will also use a state-of-the-art email distribution system to communicate with its fans, its racers and members of the media with breaking news from the track, as well as regular announcements and features. To sign up to receive the latest news about the GNCC Series, fans can click the Mailing List button on the homepage at www.gnccracing.com. Racers can register to receive rule change or clarification updates and event notices on the Competition Bulletins Page under the “Racers”à tab.
"With unprecedented growth last season, we're pleased to continue to take the GNCC Series to the next level," said Carrie Coombs Russell, CFO of Racer Productions, which promotes the Can-Am GNCC Series. "We're using cutting-edge technology and best practices to communicate with the media, our fans and our competitors. This new web site is certain to help bring the world of GNCC racing to a new level in cyberspace."
The 2008 Can-Am GNCC Series kicks off at the Triton GNCC in Melbourne, Fla., with ATVs hitting the trails on Sunday, March 2 and motorcycles on Tuesday, March 4.
