Hello Everyone!!
Day 1 went pretty well for everyone. I'll start by saying rumor has it Kurt Caselli is the overall leader! So that is pretty cool! The rest of the trophy team team did well except Jordan Brandt is out, his bike fried. Fred Hoess lost some trail points today, due to his front wheel bearings went out & he broke a foot peg off the bike. Other then that the rest of the team did good.
As far as I know, all the Junior riders did well, and I don't think any lost any trail points.
The women's team did well today too. I had a perfect day until I came in & could not get my tire off. Terrible tire change, lost a few points for that. Tomorrow is a new day and anything can happen to anyone.
It is going to be a long hard week for all the riders. The trail is turning to crap and we ride the same thing we did again tomorrow. We have long days, 158 miles, which is 7 1/2 hours! The trails are very very rocky with lots & lots of sand, kinda like riding in Arizona or Nevada doing a Hare and Hound race. They organizers ran us on Schedule B today which gave us a little more time, hopefully they keep that schedule for tomorrow since the trail is so beat up.
Besides Brandt, we did not lose any other riders. So all Club Teams are still going hard & strong.
