Tuesday Toolbox: Craig DelongDecember 18, 2018Twenty-one-year-old Craig DeLong was this year’s representative from the GNCC Nation sent to compete at the final round of the JNCC (Japan National Cross Country) series. This exchange has been going on for thirteen years now, with notable names like Josh Strang, Ricky Russell and Trevor Bollinger traveling to Japan in the past. DeLong hails from Morganton, Pennsylvania, and finished third this year in a stacked XC2 class. This year, JNCC pro racer Ren Ishidoya competed in XC1 at Snowshoe, along with a top women’s racer, Mai Ishimoto. Despite a slow start and unfamiliar terrain at the JNCC in Omachi City, Japan, he was still able to place second against Japan’s best!

This is pretty exciting because it’s cool to see new bikes, new gear, new graphics and more new stuff as we head into the new season. It’s also cool to see everyone spending time together because it seems like everyone stays so busy that it doesn’t leave much time for that kind of thing the rest of the year. It’s also a sign that the new race season is that much closer. A lot of folks are already looking to get the 2019 season started but the good news for those who still need to prepare is that we still have quite a while until the season begins.
Racer X Awards: Off-Roader of the YearDecember 12, 2018Throughout the month of December, Racer X Online editors and contributors will be handing out one award each day for an outstanding performance or effort or product related to the global motocross industry in 2018. Each winner will receive this award, which we’re calling a Roger, just like the Academy Awards have their Oscars. It’s in honor of Roger DeCoster, a great ambassador for the sport of motocross for more than 50 years. Today’s topic is Racer X Off-Roader of the Year.
Tuesday Toolbox: Kevin CunninghamDecember 11, 2018Kevin Cunningham, the 2018 4x4 Pro Champion has been unusually successful at GNCC Racing. Not only is this his third-consecutive title, but his third title out of only three years pursing the GNCC series. In short, every year he has raced GNCC full-time, he has won the title. The 27-year-old Indiana native’s GNCC career has been short but sweet – he recently announced that he will be retiring from full-time racing so that he can spend more time with his newborn son.
AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series Announces 2019 ScheduleDecember 7, 2018Racer Productions, producer of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, an AMA National Championship, is pleased to announce the 2019 series schedule. New for the 2019 season will be the expanded Micro (50cc) Racing program, while the eMTB racing will take place at eight rounds including an eMTB only race held on July 27 at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
