Round Five of the 2023 GNCC Racing Season Set to Take
Place This Weekend with the FMF Camp Coker Bullet
Hart and Russell Aim for Second-Straight Wins of the Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 13, 2023) – The Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, (GNCC Racing) is set to host round five, FMF Camp Coker Bullet, this weekend, April 15-16, at Moree’s Sportsman’s Preserve in Society Hill, South Carolina.

Hunter Hart will be aiming to make it two-in-a-row this weekend.

On Saturday, the fastest ATV racers will take to the woods of South Carolina with Hunter Hart Racing/Ithaca Recreation Sports/Fly Racing’s Hunter Hart looking to earn his second-straight win of the season. Hart is aiming to battle at the front of the pack once again this weekend and continue to close the gap in the points standings as he sits just three points behind current points leader, Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Brycen Neal.

Richardson Racing/Action Off-Road/Kenda’s Cole Richardson battled throughout the duration of the race at the previous round with Hart, and his hopeful he can land in the center of the podium this weekend. Pierce Performance/Action Off-Road/GBC/Active Waste Solution’s John Glauda Jr. landed on the podium at round four, but this weekend will be looking to battle for a top three spot once again as he is aiming for the number one spot this season.

OBOR Tires/Moose Racing/Parts Unlimited/Lonestar’s Adam McGill and JMR/GBC/Elka/Moose Racing’s Jarrod McClure had a good race in South Carolina two weeks ago, and both will look to continue to push this season and land their machines on the box at round five this Saturday afternoon. Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Brycen Neal did not have the race he was hoping for as a mechanical issue put him back early in the race. Neal still holds the points lead but will be pushing to get back to his winning ways this weekend at the FMF Camp Coker Bullet.

Steven Harrell is looking to keep his XC2 Pro-Am win streak alive on Saturday.

In the XC2 Pro-Am class it has been Steven Harrell Racing/BNR Motorsports/Kenda/HFM’s Steven Harrell earning the class wins, and this weekend he will continue to aim for that number one spot. However, there are a handful of other racers looking to put a stop to his winning momentum. This includes runner-up Owens Racing/Osburn Off-Road/Moose Racing/OBOR’s Brandon Owens and third place finisher Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Grayson Eller from two weeks ago. Both racers are ready to stand in the center of the box and will look to battle for that spot this weekend.

Pro Row 784/GBC/BNR/Victory Golf Cart’s Brandon Frazier earned his first 4x4 Pro class win at the previous round, and he is hoping to continue that momentum this weekend in Society Hill. However, Ryco Racing/Kenda Tires/KMK Off-Road/Elite Graphics’ Cody Collier and LW Racing/OBOR Tires/Action Off-Road’s Landon Wolfe are also looking to claim the victory this weekend like they have earlier this season.

Hannah Hunter is hopeful to earn another win this weekend, but will have to hold off the other WXC racers.

In the WXC class it was Hurricane Hannah/Fly Racing/OBOR Tire’s Hannah Hunter earning her second straight win, and this weekend she is hopeful she can continue her winning ways and extend her lead in the points standings. Currently third in the points was the runner-up finisher two weeks ago, JMR/Action Off-Road/GBC/Moose Racing’s Katelyn Osburn. She is aiming for a win this weekend after fishing second at the last two races. Elioff Racing/BNR Motorsports/GBC Tires/Fly Racing’s Jessica Elioff finished third at the last round, but she sits second in the points standings. She is looking to get back to the center of the box after earning the first two wins of the season.

Special activities on Saturday evening will include ePeeWee (STACYC) Racing at approximately 5:00 pm near Hank’s Tank Pond that the fishing tournament will take place at. Then the 4th Annual GNCC Bass Master’s Fishing Tournament presented by Browns RV Superstore will take place from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at Hank’s Tank Pond next to the Motocross Track part of the facility. More information on each activity and the event can be found by clicking HERE.

Ricky Russell will be looking to battle for another overall win on Sunday.

Then on Sunday, the fastest cross country motorcycle racers will hit the track at 1:00 pm ET. As we head into the fifth round of racing this season, there have been four different motorcycle winners. At the previous round, AmPro Yamaha’s Ricky Russell earned the overall win with Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/Tely Energy KTM Racing’s Steward Baylor and Magna1 Motorsports/Husqvarna’s Jordan Ashburn rounding out the top three overall finishers. Baylor earned a win at the season opener, but he hopeful he can land on the center of the box again this weekend. However, Russell is aiming to keep his momentum rolling this weekend and battle for that number one spot again.

Ashburn, the current defending champion, is still battling for his first win of the year and is hopeful he could be the fifth different winner of the season on Sunday afternoon. One rider who earned his first-career win at round three is looking to return to the center of the podium this weekend, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Craig DeLong clinched his first win at a muddy GNCC in Georgia earlier this season but is hoping to repeat that success on a dry course this weekend. FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Ben Kelley earned a win at round two, but he has since been absent from the center of the box. This weekend Kelley is hoping to put his KTM machine in that number one position.

Ruy Barbosa was excited to earn his first-ever XC2 250 Pro class win, and will be looking to earn another one this weekend.

In the XC2 250 Pro class it was Phoenix Racing Honda’s Ruy Barbosa earning his first-ever XC2 class win at the previous round, but he is aiming to continue that success and earn valuable points in the National Championship standings. His teammate, Phoenix Racing Honda’s Cody Barnes, finished second but had held the lead and is looking to redeem himself this weekend and put his machine into the center of the box. AmPro Yamaha’s Liam Draper is another XC2 rider hopeful to earn a win this weekend as he has been steadily working his way up through the pack this season.

In the FMF XC3 125 Pro-Am class, Beaver Creek Cycles/Bells Electric/Wossner Piston’s Toby Cleveland holds the points lead and his aiming to battle for his fourth win of the season this weekend. Halls’ Cycles/Enduro Engineering/Moose Racing’s Jhak Walker has finished second at the past three races, and he is hopeful he can battle with Cleveland this weekend to possibly earn his first win of the season. South Carolina native, Carolina XC/Moose Racing/KTM’s Zack Hayes is looking to earn a win this weekend as the series finishes up their southern stops on the circuit.

Rachael Archer earned her second-straight WXC win, and will be aiming to continue defending her number one plate.

It has been exciting in the WXC class as well, AmPro Yamaha’s Rachael Archer has earned the win at the past two races, and holds the points lead, but she has had some company from GASGAS/Over and Out/RG Factory Racing’s Rachel Gutish, KTM/FXR Moto/Enduro Engineering’s Shelby Turner and Trail Jesters KTM Racing’s Korie Steede.

Gutish finished in the runner-up position two weeks ago, with Turner making her first podium appearance. Steede would suffer a mechanical issue but continues to sit second in the points standings after earning the win at the first two rounds of the season. All three are looking to end Archer’s winning ways this weekend, with Gutish really hungry for a win this season.
