Brycen Neal Looks to Shut Down Walker Fowler in his Home State Race
Powerline Park to Host Round 12 of GNCC Racing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (October 5, 2017) – The AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship picks back up this weekend with the penultimate round in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Even with the series winding down, the Polaris Ace Powerline Park GNCC promises to host a great weekend of racing between the world’s best off-road ATV racers on Saturday, October 7.

Coastal Racing’s Brycen Neal has made big strides this season is proving that he has what it takes to contend for the overall championship. Even though WFR/Yamaha/Maxxis/Fly Racing’s Walker Fowler has wrapped up the 2017 title, Neal has put himself on the radar for an overall win. Most of Fowler’s success comes from his ability to quickly work his way to the front of the pack and get an early lead After pressuring Fowler at the last round Neal is more than capable of ending Fowler’s success at his home state race if he can start his race in the front.

Another rider to keep an eye on this weekend is ATV Innovations/Solo Pilot’s Westley Wolfe who made his return from summer break in a dominant fashion. Wolfe finished just off the podium in New York, and then pulled his first career holeshot at the last round meaning the next thing Wolfe will be focused on his finishing up on the box.

Meanwhile, CST/Induction Solutions/LSR/HiPer/Spider Graphix’s Adam McGill has been plagued with issues since returning from summer break. McGill’s winning attitude means he won’t be down for long. With only two rounds remaining, McGill will be on the radar to repeat his 2016 Powerline Park overall win.

JMR/ATVriders.com’s Jarrod McClure also has the ability to produce an overall win, and will look to do that this Saturday along with six-time GNCC champ Chris Borich who remains on the hunt to return to the center of the podium. GBC/Canyon Motorsports/Fly Racing’s Landon Wolfe will also be in the mix. Wolfe has produced one of his best seasons and will have his eyes set on solidifying it with a podium finish.

Landon Wolfe is still on the hunt for a podium finish and is working harder than ever to make it happen again.

The XC2 Pro-Am class has been anything but predictable this year, meaning Ithaca Recreation/Maxxis/Quad Tech/Storm Peak Crossfit-backed Hunter Hart’s success could come to an end this weekend if current points leader and M.R. Unlimited/Hygear Suspension/GBC Tires/Tire Spine’s Devon Feehan has it his way.

UTV Racing returns to the GNCC lineup this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. with round five of the six-race championship. With a different winner at each round thus far in the championship the last race of the day on Saturday may be the most unpredictable. Team UXC Racing’s Kevin Trantham will be looking to repeat his overall win, while Can-Am’s Hunter Miller will be aiming to hold the points lead over his brother and reigning champion Cody Miller on his Miller Brothers Racing/AmPro Yamaha-backed machine.

After a big win at the previous round, Kevin Trantham will be aiming to repeat his success in Ohio.

Saturday’s race schedule is as follows: Youth ATV racing begins at 8 a.m., Single-Seat UTV racing at 9 a.m., followed by amateurs, 4x4 Pro and women at 10 a.m., and the top amateurs and pros race at 1 p.m. Following Saturday’s afternoon race will be Side-by-Side UTV racing taking place at 4:00 p.m.

This weekend is co-sanctioned with WEXCR, a series that produces local racing events in Southern Ohio and West Virginia, and will ultimately bring out a full slate of local racers. All local racers are invited to compete at this event, as GNCC Racing offers classes for riders of all skill and experience levels. The amateur race entry fee is $50 and riders sign up at the track. To learn more about GNCC Racing please visit the GNCC101 webpage.

Local racers expected to compete next Saturday on ATVs will be: Colton Buck (Super Mini 12-15), Andrea Rodgers (Girls 8-15), Evan Timko (Junior B 22+), Ken Robey (4x4 Senior 40+), Doug Robey (4x4 A), Cris Landefeld (24+ C), Joey Ocel (Schoolboy Sr. 14-17), Cody Stewart (24+ C), Adam Reed (Vet A 28+) and Brandon Hosenfeld (24+C).

After multiple podium finishes, Jarrod McClure will be charging for his fourth career overall win this Saturday.
