Video Report: Ironman BikesNovember 16, 2016It was a bittersweet day as the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, came to a close for the season in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Ironman Raceway hosted over 2,400 riders in the course of the two-day Ironman GNCC event, but at the conclusion of today’s 1 p.m. pro bike race it was FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell who stood atop of the podium and earned his 40th career overall win.

With only two rounds remaining in the 2016 season FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell continued his dominance where he secured not only the overall win, but also his fourth straight GNCC National Championship.

While the two lead the way into the woods, it would not take long for Fowler to secure the lead position.

FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell continued his dominance in the XC1 Pro class where he claimed his seventh overall win of the season.

It would be N-Fab/Maxxis/AmPro Yamaha/Lonestar/MXP’s Cole Richardson who had the best jump off the start ultimately earning the $250 Wiseco XC1 Pro Holeshot Award. However, Richardson was accompanied by his teammate, Fowler, who made a quick pass to take the lead position before they entered the woods.

The rough and rugged conditions created a grueling track for the AMSOIL Snowshoe GNCC that lived up to the nickname of “America’s Toughest Race.” After three hours of intense racing it was FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell taking home the coveted win and earning his sixth win of the season.

Once he checked through timing and scoring for the first time he already had a 27-second lead ahead of Borich who still remained in second.
Video Report: The John Penton BikesJune 9, 2016After overshooting a corner and getting tangled up in the trees Russell handed over the lead on the second lap to Ashburn. His mishap also allowed Strang to take over the second place position. However, it would not take long for the defending champion to recover and take back over the lead by the time the second lap concluded.
