FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell continued his dominance in the XC1 Pro class where he claimed his seventh overall win of the season.

It would be N-Fab/Maxxis/AmPro Yamaha/Lonestar/MXP’s Cole Richardson who had the best jump off the start ultimately earning the $250 Wiseco XC1 Pro Holeshot Award. However, Richardson was accompanied by his teammate, Fowler, who made a quick pass to take the lead position before they entered the woods.

The rough and rugged conditions created a grueling track for the AMSOIL Snowshoe GNCC that lived up to the nickname of “America’s Toughest Race.” After three hours of intense racing it was FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell taking home the coveted win and earning his sixth win of the season.

Once he checked through timing and scoring for the first time he already had a 27-second lead ahead of Borich who still remained in second.

His mishap also allowed Strang to take over the second place position. However, it would not take long for the defending champion to recover and take back over the lead by the time the second lap concluded.

Maxxis/Fly Racing/HMF/Ye Olde Cycle Barn/Suzuki’s Chris Borich and Coastal Racing/MSR/Maxxis’ Brycen Neal would battle it out until the very end to round out the overall podium in second and third.

It would be FMF/KTM’s Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell claiming the overall win after making a pass on Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing/Bel-Ray’s Josh Strang in the last straightaway.

After battling the rough and rugged circumstances it was CST/LSR/Induction Solutions/DeRisi/SG/Tire Blocks’ Adam McGill who would cross the finish line first after making a last turn pass for the overall win.
Video Report: Camp Coker Bullet BikesMay 11, 2016The new venue located in Society Hill, South Carolina was an instant hit among racers and fans, but the lighting storm also made quite the impression forcing the race being cut short to two hours to accommodate the deteriorating track that quickly became impassable with the substantial amount of rain that occurred prior to the start. The GNCC Track Crew worked diligently to completely re-route the race track for the 1 p.m. pro race, and once the checkered flag flew on the grueling six-lap race it was FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell who landed on the middle of the box and took home the inaugural win.
