United States’ Brandy Richards aiming to break records at 6DAYS® Portugal
For Brandy Richards (KTM), the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations has been a major part of her racing career since helping the United States to win the MOTOREX Women’s World Trophy in 2019.
Each year she returns, she continues to set the benchmark as the rider to beat in the women’s class.
In 2021, she won all twenty-nine special tests in Italy, a feat no one had yet achieved or since equalled.
However, her biggest hurdle came in 2025 when a broken leg in April of that year put her hopes of even making it to the 6DAYS® Italia in doubt.
Despite the narrow, seven-month window to recover from such an injury, Richards not only secured her place on the team, but went on to end the race as the fastest individual female competitor, while earning the United States their sixth title.
That incredible effort once again highlighted her drive, determination and desire to be the best.
“It took a lot of dedication to work through that injury,” she says, “on the days when you don’t want to train and are in pain is when you have to keep looking at what’s to come and understand where that hard work will pay off.”
For 2026, Richards starts the 6DAYS® Portugal fighting fit, healthy and as hungry as ever to win. On terrain she admits is remarkably like home, everyone knows she will be tough to beat.
“I definitely want to go for a fifth individual win,” she smiles. “This terrain is what I’m most comfortable with. I had to work hard to be good in the mud for the last two editions, but I grew up riding sand.”
Finally, when asked about chasing down that record-breaking seventh MOTOREX Women’s World Trophy title at the hundredth edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations, Richards does not give much away.
“Of course, there’s a lot of pressure, but we’re used to it now. We have a good shot at it this year!”
