Nicole Rupert has been dominating the Women’s eMTB class this season, winning seven out of nine races while also earning strong finishes aboard her dirt bike. With years of racing experience that translate seamlessly across both disciplines, Rupert continues to showcase the same determination, skill, and passion, whether she’s twisting a throttle or pedaling through the woods.

GNCC Racing: Let’s go back to the beginning. When did you first start riding? When did you decide to start racing, and what was your first GNCC race?

Nicole Rupert: I first started riding and racing dirt bikes when I was about eight years old. My dad had bought me a PW50 before I could even walk, but I think once he started racing a bunch again, I wanted to also. We dusted off the Pdub and started hitting the trails. My first GNCC was in 2018 at Powerline Park. It was muddy, and I barely made a lap, but I've been hooked since. I recently started racing eMTB last year in 2024 at Snowshoe after my dad suggested trying it out for fun, and they were typically on Fridays, so it was perfect.

You’ve collected seven wins so far in the eMTB women’s class this season. What do you think has contributed to your success?

My background in dirt bikes undeniably helps me the most. I pretty much take all my years on a dirt bike and use it on the e-bike. It also helps that I genuinely enjoy racing my e-bike and always have lots of fun!

Not only do you race eMTB, but you also race dirtbikes in the Women’s class. What do you enjoy most about lining up in the Women’s class on the dirt bike?

I definitely enjoy most of all lining up next to some of my best friends and with other girls who share the same love for this sport. We all also have really great sportsmanship on and off the track. The competition is tough and keeps improving.

This year, you’ve managed to sweep both of the eMTB doubleheaders. On top of that, it’s actually three straight days of racing for you when you include the AM bike race. How do you push through three days of racing in a row?

I try my best to stay hydrated and well rested, but most of all, I just remind myself why I do this, why I'm here, and that there's an end to every race. So keep pushing because it's not forever, and I love to be here.

How much do you think racing in one discipline helps sharpen your performance in the other, whether it’s fitness, focus, or technique?

I think racing helps with all aspects. I've learned how to pick good lines, strategy, and it definitely helps sharpen my technique.

On the flip side, what's the hardest thing for you about racing an eMTB compared to racing a dirtbike?

Having to actually pedal the bike!

What’s your favorite GNCC venue to race at, and why?

On dirt bikes, my favorite venue has always been Big Buck/Tiger Run since I've always done rather well there, and I love the dirt. On e-bikes, my favorite is Snowshoe. This year it was super flowy and fast, and I had so much fun. It's also super cool how we start in the village!

What are your goals for the rest of this season and future seasons?

My main goals are to stay healthy, keep finishing well, and to continue having fun.

Every racer has someone they look up to. Between eMTB and dirt bike racing, who has inspired you the most in your racing?

Besides my dad, someone who has been my biggest inspiration is Mackenzie Tricker. She's taught me pretty much everything I know about being on a dirt bike. She was and still is an amazing racer. When I was younger, I pretty much worshiped the ground she walked on, and I was fortunate enough to be able to grow up around her and grow pretty close with her and her family.

Enough about racing! When you’re not at the track or training, what do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy crafts, baking, doing my nails, hanging out with friends, and shopping. I do enjoy things away from the track, but being at the track, riding my e-bike, and working out are honestly my favorite things and the activities I have the most fun doing.

Finally, we know you can’t do this by yourself. Who are the people and sponsors you’d like to thank?

My mom and dad, of course, the Boland family, Columbia Flag & Sign, PJs Hauling, 100 Percent, 110 Racing, Southern Ohio Excavating, Protune Suspension, Eighteen Offroad, Osburn Offroad, John and Kathy Bowles, and Cory Buttrick!
