GNCC Racing: For those who don’t know you or your family, tell us about what got you started in racing. When was your first GNCC?
Jeremiah Wolf: I’ve been around racing for as long as I can remember. I started riding a Suzuki 50 when I was 2, and my first race was at an AWRCS when I was 5, and I raced a DRR 70. I raced my first GNCC when I was 10 at Snowshoe on a Raptor 125. After that race, though, I didn’t race another GNCC until 2021, which was my first full year at the nationals.
You were pretty much GNCC born and raised, with your dad racing as you grew up. What was it like being around the series from such a young age, and how do you think that shaped you into the racer you are today?
Even though I never raced the nationals in the youth ranks, I was still at every race growing up, watching my dad race. Being around GNCC for so long has 100% had a huge impact on where I am today in my racing career. Another huge impact is all the great people and families I’ve been able to get to know over the years of racing GNCC.
It’s no secret that your dad, Brian Wolf, was an accomplished racer. In fact, at Snowshoe in 2009, he became the first XC2 Pro Am rider to win an overall. Having a dad who knows firsthand what it takes to succeed at this level, how has his knowledge and support helped guide you through the ranks, especially now that you’re competing in the very same XC2 class where he found success?
I am beyond grateful that I have a dad who knows so much about racing and has been able to compete at the highest level of GNCC racing. I would definitely not be where I am today without his guidance and tips. Whether it was riding tips or tips for working on the bikes, just about everything I know has come from him.
Last year, you won the College A Championship. How did that championship help to prepare you for this season? What's been the biggest challenge about moving up from that College A class?
Winning the championship last year was definitely a cool experience, but it added a lot of pressure going into this year. I set some goals for myself this year, and so far I have definitely surpassed them, so I’m pretty stoked about that. I didn’t feel like there was a big difference in moving up to XC2 this year, but if I had to say one thing, it would be that the sprint speed right from the start is definitely a lot higher than it was last year.
You’re coming off a podium at Snowshoe. How does that result give you momentum heading into summer break and the final races of the season?
Yeah, it definitely keeps me motivated to push through the break, and keep up with the workouts, and racing as much as I can on the weekends. Heading into the last couple of races, I just want to pick up where I left off and finish on the podium for the last four. I’m definitely going to try and push for that win and hopefully finish in the top three for the end of season results.
What does a typical week of training or prep look like for you during race season? How do you balance riding, fitness, and everything else?
When it comes to training I workout Monday through Friday, typically I try to go in the morning before work, and I always work out with Alex and Jessica Elioff. I started working with Levi Coen last fall and it’s by far the best decision I could have made for my program. I highly recommend him if you’re looking for an awesome trainer. When it comes to the bike I do all the prep work on them. For the most part once I get done working everyday I’m off to the garage and working on bikes in the evenings. It’s very hard to balance everything, but I just take it one day at a time and work through it all.
Is there a certain type of terrain or track condition you feel the most confident on? What GNCC track is your favorite?
By far, I like any track that’s dry, I hate the mud and never seem to do very good in it. I also really like the sand. It’s hard for me just to pick one track, but I really like Camp Coker and Ironman.
What are your goals for the rest of the 2025 season? Beyond this year, what other goals do you have for your racing career in GNCC or even beyond that?
I’d really like to finish on the podium in the last four races, and a big goal would be to grab a win before the season is over. Looking into the future, my goals are to win the XC2 championship next season. Beyond that, moving up to XC1 would be my next goal, and I'll see where it takes me from there.
Now that GNCC is on summer break, what do you like to do in your free time when you’re not racing or training?
Honestly, I don’t ever have free time. With my dad owning a construction company, I work with him every day, and then when we get home, there are always trucks or equipment that need to be worked on. So my weeks are full, then on the weekends I’m always finding somewhere to race. Whether it’s an AWRCS, EROC, CRA, or NECXC, I’m always racing.
Finally, who would you like to thank for helping you out this season?
I can’t thank my dad enough for everything he does. I wouldn’t be able to do it without him. I also can’t thank my sister, my girlfriend, and everyone else who helps me in the pits at every race. And of course all the awesome sponsors I couldn’t do it without them: Maxxis, Powermadd, Flexx, Precision, IMS, Rath, Moose, Parts Unlimited, DP, Sunstar, DWT, Custom Axis, Yoshimura, Spider Graphix, ATV Four-Play, TDR, BNR, Pierce Performance, Outlier Performance and Levi Coen, and Michele Lukehart!
