GNCC Racing caught up with Korie Steede before Summer break came to an end to chat about your history with racing, the 2025 thus far and how it feels to be heading to ISDE this year after injury sidelined her in 2024.

GNCC Racing: Let’s go back to the beginning. When did you first start riding, and what made you get into racing? When was your first GNCC event?

I started riding when I was five years old. My dad raced, and our neighbor down the street was Fred Andrews. Growing up around Fred’s race teams really sparked my love for racing dirtbikes! I thought the world of all the pro guys that raced for him, he was pretty cool too! I believe my first GNCC was 2012!

You’ve collected three wins so far this year and sit second in points. What’s been the key to your consistency, and how are you approaching the final stretch of the season?

I think the biggest key has been keeping my mindset steady. I’ve focused a lot on preparation, both mentally and physically, and really trying to stay present during the races. As we head into the final rounds, I’m keeping the same approach! Take it one race at a time and keep showing up ready to fight for the win.

The WXC class continues to become more competitive with each passing season. What’s it like racing against such a strong field of women?

It’s honestly awesome. The level of talent keeps rising, and it pushes all of us to be better. Every race feels like a battle, and that keeps things exciting. I have a ton of respect for the women I line up with! We push each other, and that's how the sport grows.

Each track brings something different. Which type of course do you feel most confident racing on, and why? What’s your favorite GNCC track?

I tend to do really well on the faster, flowy tracks; anything with good rhythm and high-speed sections suits my style. But I also love a technical challenge, so it’s hard to choose! If I had to pick a favorite, I’d probably say Ironman. The fans, the layout, and the whole vibe is awesome!

What’s your favorite thing about racing dirt bikes?

I would definitely have to say the adrenaline! There’s nothing like pushing yourself to the edge and feeling that thrill! Also, I’ve met so many amazing people through this sport.

You missed last year’s ISDE due to injury, but this year you’re back. What does it mean to you to get the chance to represent your country again?

Missing last year was tough, especially watching from the sidelines, but it made me ever more motivated to come back stronger. Getting to wear the red, white, and blue and line up with Team USA is such an honor. I’m proud to be a part of it and ready to give it everything I’ve got in Italy!

What advice would you give to younger girls who look up to you and dream of becoming a pro racer one day?

Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to chase big goals. There will be challenges, but every tough moment helps you grow. Stay focused, work hard, and always keep it fun! And surround yourself with people who support your dream.

GNCC is officially on summer break! What are your plans for the break, and what do you like to do for fun when you’re not racing or training?

I’ll still be training and prepping for ISDE, but I also plan to enjoy a little downtime with family and friends. Lake days, golfing, or even just hanging out and relaxing. It’s nice to recharge before we hit the final rounds.

Finally, who are the sponsors and people you’d like to thank for helping you out this season?

I couldn’t do this without the amazing support from my team and sponsors. Huge thanks to Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, PIT VIPER, Fly Racing, FMF, Dunlop, Motorex, SIDI, Power of the mind, Steve & Denise Hatch, ClubMX, Cole Martinez, EVS, and everyone else who helps make this possible. And, of course, my family, friends, and mechanic — their support means the world.
