Parts Unlimited Mason-Dixon: ATV Race Report
Hart Takes Second Win of 2025 Season in More Muddy Conditions
MOUNT MORRIS, Pa. (June 1, 2025) – The Progressive Grand National Cross Country (GNCC Racing) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, continued this weekend with the Parts Unlimited Mason-Dixon GNCC held in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. After a substantial amount of rain fall on Friday and Saturday morning, track conditions started out slippery and wet but would start to tack up as the afternoon race took off.
Once the green flag waved on the eighth round of the GNCC series, Action Off-Road/AMSOIL/CB Racing’s Chris Borich found himself in a favorable position and earned the $250 XC1 ATV Holeshot Awrad.
As the group of XC1 Pro riders emerged from the woods and headed towards timing and scoring on the opening lap, it was HHR/Fly Racing/QuadTech’s Hunter Hart holding the early lead. Hart would continue to push himself, but he would soon find himself in a heated battle with Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Brycen Neal for the lead position.
On lap three, Neal would make the pass for the lead coming through just 1.8 seconds ahead of Hart. That wouldn’t discourage Hart though as he kept on pushing and would make his way back into the lead on the next lap and hold that position until he saw the checkered flag wave. Hart’s win would not come easy as he had to push the entire duration as second and third were just 1.3 seconds behind him.
Action Off-Road/Kenda/Custom Axis’ Jay Shadron would have a good start to the day as he came through second on the opening lap but would briefly fall back to fourth for the next couple of laps. Shadron would regain focus and push towards the front again, making his way into second on the last lap of the race and crossing just 1.3 seconds behind Hart and less than a second ahead of Neal.
After briefly holding the lead, Neal would fall back to third on the last lap of the race, crossing the line to round out the top three overall finishers.
Borich would remain in the top five after earning the holeshot at the start of the race as he crossed the line to earn fourth overall. OBOR/Moose Racing/Parts Unlimited/Lonestar’s Adam McGill would battle his way up to round out the top five overall finishers after he started back in the tenth place position on lap one.
Action Off-Road/Maxxis Tires/Lonestar Racing’s Austin Abney worked his way up from a 14th place start to the day, to crossing the finish line for sixth overall on the day. Stewart Boys Racing/GBC/Pierce Performance’s Wyatt Wilkin had a back-and-forth day as he worked his way up to second as the white flag flew. Wilkin would ultimately cross the line seventh overall.
WFR/Kenda/Fly Racing/Yamaha/BNR’s Walker Fowler found himself running 12th on the second lap, and he would be unable to regain momentum to make a push towards the front in the slick yet tacky conditions. Fowler would work his way up to finish eighth overall on the day.
Coming through to take ninth overall on the day was Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Grayson Eller as he battled his way inside the top 10 after starting back in the 13th place position on the opening lap. BNR Motorsports/Fearless/Kenda Tire’s Steven Harrell rounded out the top 10 overall finishers at the Parts Unlimited Mason-Dixon GNCC.
As the XC2 Pro-Am class took off it was CST Tires/LMR Motors/Elka/Fly Racing’s Braxton Grosse earning the $100 XC2 BNR Motorsports Holeshot Award and holding the early lead in the class.
However, as the race continued on the XC2 class would see multiple leader changes as both BNR Motorsports/Pierce Performance/GBC Tire’s Alex Thieman and Hilltop Motorsports/Precision Trenching/Action Off-Road’s Daulton Keyes would both be credited with holding onto the lead position for a couple of laps in the race.
Grosse would continue to push forward and make the pass for the lead on the last lap and holding that all the way to see the checkered flag waving, earning his third win of the season. Thieman would hold on to finish second in the class, while Keyes came through to round out the top three XC2 finishers.
The Parts Unlimited Mason-Dixon GNCC Top Amateur honors would go to Talan Stout who came through to finish 19th overall and take home the win in the College A (16-19) class. Second on the Top Amateur podium went to Brody Pullen who finished 20th overall and second in the College A (16-19) class. Rounding out the Top Amateur podium was Thomas Koontz Jr. as he came through to finish 21st overall while also earning himself the Vet A (28+) win.
In the morning race conditions still remained pretty slick and wet throughout the course as the sun would only peak through the clouds Saturday morning. As the 4x4 Pro class took off it was KMK Off-Road/Osburn Off-Road/Kenda’s Dayton Hickey earning himself the $100 4x4 Pro BNR Motorsports Holeshot Award.
As the racers made their way through the woods, Kenda/KMK/Ryco Electric’s Cody Collier would hold the early lead. However, while out on the third lap Pro Row 784/TMS/Edgewood/DeRisi’s Brandon Frazier would make the move into the lead with Collier holding onto second. Frazier would be able to make his way through the course on the last lap, coming through to take his third AM overall win and 4x4 Pro class win. Collier would come through to take second in the class and overall, while Hickey held onto the third place position.
The WXC class saw some good battles throughout the race as JMR/Action Off-Road/GBC/Moose Racing’s Katelyn Osburn earned herself the $100 WXC BNR Motorsports Holeshot Award to start the day. The early lead would be held by Elioff Racing’s Jessica Elioff, but she would unfortunately fall back to fourth as the checkered flag flew.
The battle came between Osburn Off-Road/Fearless/Kenda’s Hannah Hunter and Osburn Off-Road/Pierce Performance/Moose Racing’s Chloe Harper as they would come through timing and scoring just seconds apart for the last two laps of the race. Hunter would be able to hold off Harper and earn her third class win of the season, while Harper finished just 2.2 seconds behind her to take second place in the WXC class. Osburn would fight back to overtake the third place position on the last lap of the race and round out the top three WXC finishers.
In the Youth ATV race it would be Eli McCrary from the second row in the YXC2 Super Mini Jr. (12-13) class taking the overall win in some slick, muddying conditions. Jacob Smallwood would come through to take second overall, while also earning the YXC1 Super Mini Sr. (13-15) class win. Bodie Buckhannon battled his way to finish third overall in the race, but he would also take second in the YXC1 class.
Landon Glauda would come through to finish third in the YXC1 class, while Camden Phillips and Brooks Hill finished second and third in the YXC2 class. Aden McGomery won the 250 (13-15) class, Bentley Deal earned the 250 (13-15) Limited class win and JP Pickens Jr. took home the 125 (8-12) class win. Brody Herrington earned the 125 (8-12) Limited class win, Michael Stringfellow came through to take the 90 (8-12) class win, Lakah Carr took the Schoolgirl (12-15) class win while Ava Lucas earned the Girls Sr. (12-15) class win. Kynlee Bowman earned the Girls Jr. (8-11) class win and Ryder Tenney took home the 70 CVT (6-11) class win.
Seeing some of the gnarliest conditions this weekend were the ATV Micro racers as they were the first ones out on the track Saturday morning. However, it would be Justin Collins Jr. in the MXC2 (6-8) class coming through to take the overall win as well as his class win. Casen Jennings battled through to finish second overall on the day and take home the MXC1 (8-9) class win. Johnny Martin Jr. would round out the top three Micro ATV finishers but would finish in the second place position in the MXC1 class.
Audrey Petrilla rounded out the MXC1 top three finishers in Pennsylvania, while Cash Knecht finished second in the MXC2 class. Sage Shields earned the 50 Sr. (6-7) class win, Rigston Taylor earned the 50 Jr. (4-5) class win and Winston Weddle earned the 90 Stock (8-9) class win.
The Bike Micro race also had some of the slickest conditions of the day, but Kane Morrsion would power through all those conditions to take his seventh overall and MXC1 (8-9) class win of the season. Morrison would also be close to lapping the entire Micro field as he and second place finisher, Daxton Mullins, were the only two racers to complete all 10 laps. Mullins would come through to take second overall and in the MXC1 class, while Josh Erny rounded out the top three overall and MXC1 class finishers on the day.
Kash Brummage earned the MXC2 (6-8) class win, with Ryder Baricska and Tank Laws rounding out the top three finishers in the class. Braddox Hall took the 50 Sr. 1 (7) class win, Weston Sanders earned the 50 Sr. 2 (6) class win, Jacobi Duvall earned the 50 Jr. 1 (6-7) class win while Kane Gasper earned the 50 Jr. 2 (4-5) class win. Tessa Looney took home the Micro-E1 (7-8) class win, Nathan Zhang earned the Micro-E2 (4-6) class win, Weston Rose earned the Micro (4-6) Shaft Drive class and Jamison Dodson took the Trail Rider (7-9) class win.
The Specialized Turbo eMTB GNCC National Championship would hold its first doubleheader weekend in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. Both days were full of brutal racing as the rain and slick conditions were presented to the competitors on Friday afternoon, and then sunny, tacky conditions were given on Saturday evening. Maxwell Beaupre would come through to go 1-1 on the weekend earning both Friday and Saturday overall and XC1 Pro class wins. Cody Pivirotto would go 2-2 on the weekend after battling throughout the conditions. Garrett Stout would go back-and-forth but ultimately crossed the line 3-3 on the weekend.
After a two-week hiatus, the series will return for the Yamaha Racing Snowshoe GNCC on June 20-22, 2025. This will be the last remaining round before the series heads into its summer break. After Snowshoe, the series will look to return in the fall for the final four races of the season.
