This week GNCC Racing caught up with 250 All-Star (14-17) ATV competitor, Noah Lykins, on his 2025 season and how he got into racing.

Noah currently leads the way in the 250 All Star class.

GNCC Racing: Let's go back to the beginning. When did you first start riding? What was your first bike or ATV? When did you get into racing, and what was your first GNCC race?

Noah Lykins: I started riding when I was 2 years old on a yellow Can-Am DS 50, just messing around on the farm. In August 2019, I raced my first local IXCR race at Whiskey River, I was 9 years old. We didn’t have any gear at the time, so I raced in blue jeans and cowboy boots! Then in 2020, I raced my first GNCC at the Mountaineer.

You won the Youth Quad overall championship last year. Tell us about that experience and how the championship came together for you.

That season was awesome. My goal was to win the championship, and I gave it everything I had. I made a lot of mistakes, and it was tough to keep the points lead but I’m thankful it worked out and I was able to bring home the 2024 Youth ATV Overall National Championship.

You aren’t the only racer in your family. What’s it like racing with your siblings? How do you all push each other to be your best?

I’m really thankful we all race together. It’s great to travel as a family and push each other with the same goals. Riding with Cole helps a lot—having someone to chase makes me ride harder and get faster. I also try to remember that I’m setting an example for my little stepbrother, Brooks, so I always try to do my best on the track.

You’ve had some great races to start the season, being on the AM Overall Podium at the first two races. Did you expect to have success this quickly in jumping from youth to adult? Do you think your youth championship gave you more confidence going into the adult ranks?

I’m grateful for the solid finishes so far this season. The AM pace is definitely different than the Youth pace, but I like the challenge. I am hoping to snag some more wins this season and stay consistent. I would like to get an overall win this year.

You compete in the 250 All-Star class that your brother Cole won last year. When you entered the class this year, did you know what to expect since he raced it last year? Did he give you any advice on racing in the class?

I knew a little bit about what to expect and how we wanted to set up the quad, but competition is always the biggest unknown factor going into it. Cole definitely gave me some tips with the success he had last year.

What race do you look forward to most every season, and why?

Hoosier and Ironman are my favorite tracks. I like that they are fast, so it is straight up racing and pure speed. They are home tracks for me, so a lot of friends and family get to come and support.

Looking ahead, what’s the next step for you in your racing career? Are there specific goals you’re working toward this season that you’re excited about?

The next big step for me would be moving up to College A, but right now my main focus is on winning the 250 All-Star class.

That’s enough about racing. When you’re not at the track or training, what do you like to do for fun?

Outside of racing, I like being outdoors. I enjoy building and riding tracks, hunting, riding my side-by-side with family and friends, helping on the farm with my papa, or working in the shop with my dad. I like staying busy for sure.

Finally, we know you can’t do this by yourself. Who are the people and sponsors you’d like to thank?

First, I want to thank God for all the opportunities He’s given me and my family. I trust the path He has for me, in racing and beyond.

Big thanks to my dad and Ashley for everything they do. Their support, along with my family and racing family, means the world to me.

I also want to thank all the companies that support me: Lykins Contracting, Hilltop Motorsports, Baldwin Motorsports, MotoXtremes, RJR, Axis Shocks, Walsh, JB Racing, CST Tires, Twin Air, FXR Racing, Cycra, Fourwerx, Scott Goggles, Quadtech Seats, Stacy Mundy Photography, XC Cinema, Blackheart, and HCC Conditioning.

I’m thankful for all their support. I’m excited for what’s ahead and ready to keep pushing with this great team!
