VP Racing Big Buck: Women’s Race Report 

UNION, S.C. (February 21, 2025) – The Women of GNCC Racing kicked off the 2025 season with a bang at the VP Racing Big Buck GNCC this past weekend in Union, South Carolina. This event marked the beginning of the 2025 Progressive Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC Racing) presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship.

Round 1 began with Micro and ATV racing on Saturday, which took place in muddy and wet conditions. The bike race took place under similar conditions, as a thunderstorm arrived just before the 10 a.m. start, creating challenging circumstances for all competitors. Here’s how the races went for the female athletes at the Big Buck.

In the ATV Micro race, Audrey Petrilla came out swinging, taking the overall victory after leading nearly every lap except for one, setting the stage for a promising season ahead.

Gracie Wolfe would be the girl with the highest overall placement in the Youth ATV race, clinching 9th overall from the YXC1 class. In the School Girl class, Jenna Berg grabbed the win after battling her way up from third. 

 In the Girl's Sr. class, Emma Edwards was able to lead every lap and take the win. In the Girls Jr class, Baylee Wright was to grab the win.

In the Girls Super Mini class, in the Youth Bike race on Saturday afternoon, Jayden Shea would grab the win ahead of Sahara Robinson and Ky Pollak, kicking off the 2025 GNCC season on a strong note. 

Cassie Fairfield would battle her way into taking the win in the Girls 85 class, and Aubrey Tsakanikas would win the Girls 65 class in South Carolina. 

Jessica Elioff grabbed the WXC class win aboard her Elioff Racing/BNR Motorsports/GBC Tires machine at the VP Racing Big Buck GNCC, beating out Hannah Hunter aboard her Osborn Off-Road/Fearless/Kenda machine, and Katelyn Osburn on her JMR/Action Off-Road/GBC/Moose Racing machine.

In the WXC ATV class, Jessica Elioff was able to pick up right where she left off after winning the 2024 WXC National Championship. Elioff was able to battle up from fourth on the first lap to lead the rest of the laps on her Elioff Racing/BNR Motorsports/GBC Tires backed Yamaha. 

Hannah Hunter, aboard her Osborn Off-Road/Fearless/Kenda machine, fought her way back from third after leading the first lap at the VP Racing Big Buck, ultimately finishing in second place.

After securing the $100 BNR WXC Holeshot award, Katelyn Osburn rounded out the top three on her JMR/Action Off-Road/GBC/Moose Racing machine.

A thunderstorm rolled in Sunday morning, causing the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. bike races to be combined into one. As the race took off, it was Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki’s Rachael Archer grabbing the $100 Landers KTM WXC Holeshot Award. Archer would continue to dominate from there and win the class by over 9 minutes.

Shelby Turner battled throughout the race on her Enduro Engineering-backed GasGas after starting in fifth on the first lap. She moved to fourth on the second lap before making two passes on the final lap to secure second place in WXC.

Korie Steede, aboard her Rockstar Energy Factory Husqvarna Racing machine, maintained a consistent race and was able to round out the top three. 

No matter the muddy conditions, the incredible women of GNCC showed up and delivered at the VP Racing Big Buck for Round 1. Round 2 is just around the corner at the Moose Racing Wild Boar in Palatka, Florida, and we’re excited for more great racing!
