Yamaha Racing Ironman GNCC Goes Pink
in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Country Music Singer, Tyler Farr, Set to Perform Saturday
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (October 17, 2022) – As the 28th Annual Yamaha Racing Ironman Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) race draws near, Crawfordsville, Indiana is set to host the final round of the 2022 GNCC Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship. The finale has continued to be a “pink race” in honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and will take place the weekend of October 22 and 23.
Ironman’s “pink race” raises awareness and funds for local breast cancer care and research, while bringing the GNCC Racing community together for a cause that well exceeds racing. The pink attire will make a compelling distinction throughout the woods, hills and dirt of Ironman Raceway.
All donations from number plate background sales, stickers, OEM contributions and more will continue to go to the Montgomery Country Community Foundation (MCCF), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free mammogram examinations across the Crawfordsville and Montgomery County region.
GNCC Racing will relax number-plate background color codes for the race and encourages riders to run pink backgrounds, available via HBD MotoGrafx. To continue the fundraising efforts, a pink front number plate background will result in a $5 donation. A full set of front and side backgrounds will include a $10 donation. In addition, each other will include one free mini plate. Email [email protected] or call (386) 308-2225 to order your backgrounds today and use code “Pink22” for special pricing.
HBD MotoGrafx will also be providing exclusive GNCC Breast Cancer Awareness race stickers for a minimum $1 donation. Stickers will be available at rider registration throughout the weekend.
Yamaha Motor Corp. will once again be donating $50 for every Yamaha class win at Ironman and $50 for every National Championship earned. They will also be doing a beanie giveaway, along with special Yamalube giveaways. Their hospitality tent will offer hot chocolate, coffee, popcorn and Halloween candy. Yamaha will be selling wristbands ($10 each) to the first 200 Yamaha bLU cRU members that come to see them on Friday starting at 2 p.m. through Saturday at 4 p.m. Those wristbands will allow them to access a tented concert viewing area and have drinks/snacks provided, while also being entered into some different raffle items.
Outside of the Ironman GNCC, Yamaha is working on a special activation with All Kids Bikes and donating some Stryder bikes to the local elementary school (kindergarten students).
On Saturday evening at 9 pm, Country-Rocker Tyler Farr will hit the stage as the Monster Energy Concert Series headliner for the Yamaha Racing Ironman GNCC. Tyler Farr broke into the country music scene back in 2013 with the release of his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which landed at number two on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. “Redneck Crazy” became a platinum-selling title-track which pushed Farr onward to have back-to-back number one singles, including his first number one as a songwriter, “Whiskey in my Water.” With three number one singles, multiple award nominations, country music artist Tyler Farr will be performing his hits such as “Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water,” “Better in Boots,” “A Guy Walks Into a Bar,” “Cover Girl,” and more on Saturday evening in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Check out more music from Tyler Farr on his YouTube Channel.
Special activities throughout the weekend will include trick-or-treating, a Halloween costume contest and ePeeWee (STACYC) racing. Trick-or-Treating will take place on Friday from 4-6 pm through vendors row and sponsor village, and then again on Saturday from 6-8 pm where candy will also be available at the Halloween costume contest and at the ePeeWee race. The ePeeWee race will be held at 6 pm at the finish line, and the Halloween costume contest will take place at 6:30 pm at Team Faith’s pit area.
