Trail Jesters KTM Racing - John Penton GNCC Race Report

Round 7 of the 2022 GNCC season sent the Trail Jester KTM Racing team up to Millfield, OH for the John Penton GNCC. Changing weather started the day with humid and drier conditions until the skies opened up leaving the track slick for the afternoon.

Simon Johnson: “I struggled to see through the rain early on which led to some mistakes. Put my head down with 2 laps to go and had a damn good time.”

In the afternoon race, Simon Johnson, Jesse Ansley, and Mason Semmens took on the XC2 class. Johnson fought the rain early in his race but managed to consistently make up ground throughout the race finishing his day 9th in class and 15th overall. Semmens was back from injury this round and toughed it out on this grueling course. Semmens and Ansley found themselves 12th and 13th in class by the halfway point of the race and settled in there for the remainder of the day. In the 250A class, Brayden Nolette had a strong ride going for him until he had a big get off and damaged his clutch reservoir. Although he tried to keep racing he ended up needing to be towed out on lap 4 and did not finish.

In the WXC class, Korie Steede struggled to find her normal groove checking in the end of lap one sitting in 5th place. Throughout the rest of the race she made the pass for 4th and settled into that position until the end of her race, finishing the day 4th in class. Taylor Johnston also took on the WXC class this past weekend, putting in a consistent day of racing and finishing her day 10th in class.

Lining up in YXC1 was Trail Jesters Next Gen racer Van Gosselin, who found himself in battles the entirety of his race. Gosselin crossed the finish line in 4th place just 6 seconds off the podium. Unfortunately Jiggs Fustini sat out this past weekend due to a broken wrist.
