Morgantown, WV  (March 18, 2021) Round one of the GNCC EMTB Series presented by Specialized Bicycles is in the books and the Impakt Results / Michelin / Wamsley Cycles team was able to get off to a strong start to the season.

With round one of the series taking place in Washington, GA, the weather made for a great weekend of racing and near perfect track conditions. With over 90 racers in attendance, this was the biggest GNCC EMTB turnout to date.

2019 Masters Class National Champion, Colin Dierman, moved to the newly formed 40+ Senior Class and was able to take the top spot on the podium with a 1st place finish in his class as well as 18th overall.

Youth (9-12) racer, Cooper Kuneff got the holeshot and never looked back as he took home a class victory and 15th overall.

Ashley Hendershot looks to regain her 2019 Women’s class title this season. She got off to a good start with a 2nd place finish. She looks to improve and crest the top spot at round two next month.

Canon Kuneff is the team’s title favorite for the Amateur class. After getting the holeshot and making a few mistakes, Canon dropped back to 3rd place in his class and 13th overall.

After taking home the 2020 Amateur National Championship, Adam Mayhew made the jump up to the ultra competitive XC1 Pro Class. After a sprint finish with GNCC legend, Kailub Russell, Mayhew took home 8th on the day for a respectful top 10 finish in his pro debut.
